According to Mike Puma of the New York Post, the Mets and the representation of catcher Wilson Ramos had a meeting today at the Winter Meetings in Las Vegas.
Ramos, 31, is on the open market for the first time in his Major League career, and has been on the Mets list of possible targets before.
Ramos appeared in just 111 games last year after having some injury issues (which have created hesitation for the Mets) but still posted an OPS of .845 and an OPS+ of 130, the best of his career.
Ramos also has rumored interest from other teams, such as the Twins, so a move to the Mets is nothing close to a guarantee.
