According to Mike Puma of the NY Post, New York Mets manager Mickey Callaway will likely have more of a say in the construction of his coaching staff this time around, after having limited input last offseason.
As announced earlier today, hitting coach Pat Roessler not be returning to the team next season and bullpen coach Ricky Bones will be reassigned within the organization. At the moment, those are two positions the Mets are certainly looking to fill.
Further changes to the Mets current coaching staff are expected. Though it is not yet guaranteed, bench coach Gary DiSarcina and first-base coach Rueben Amaro Jr also may not be returning to the team next season.
If DiSarcina does end up leaving the organization, the Mets should look to bring in a bench coach with more National League experience to help out Callaway.
