New York Mets first base prospect Peter Alonso gave his team an early 1-0 lead, as he smacked a solo home run to dead center in his first at-bat of tonight’s AFL Fall Stars Game.

The homer left the bat at an exit velocity of 110 MPH, as Alonso turned on a 103 MPH offering delivered by Toronto Blue Jays prospect Nate Pearson.

According to David Adler of MLB.com, the fastest pitch hit for a homer in the majors during the pitch-tracking era is 102.8 MPH.

Just three players in the pitch-tracking era have homered off of pitches 102+ MPH, and none have gone deep off of a fastball of 103 MPH or higher, per MMO’s own John Edwards.

Alonso has now hit a 110 MPH home run in the Fall Stars Game, a 113.6 MPH home run in an AFL game and a 113.6 MPH home run in the Futures Game this year.

You can check out video of the home run here, and the rest of the game can be seen live on MLB Network.
