When it comes to baseball, sometimes, luck just isn’t on your side. The Javelinas starter, Anthony Misiewicz, tossed four scoreless innings and gave up only one hit, despite not missing a single bat! This game would remain scoreless until the top of the seventh inning.
After getting the Scorpions out of a bases loaded jam in the sixth, Gerson Bautista stayed in the game for the seventh inning and immediately got into trouble allowing a double and a sac bunt to put a runner on third with only one out. Bautista would be able to get the second out via a pop-out to third base but would give up an RBI triple one batter later to give the Javelinas a 1-0 lead before finishing off the inning.
The Scorpions would get that run back in the bottom of the seventh and called on Joe Zanghi to hold the score at 1-1. Zanghi would get the lead-off batter to fly out to start the inning, but back to back singles by top prospects Lucius Fox and Keston Hiura would give the Javelinas a chance to pull ahead. Similar to Bautista’s performance, Zanghi would get the critical second out but proceeded to give up the big hit right after. A two RBI double off the bat of Joe McCarthy would score both Fox and Hiura to give the Javelinas a 3-1 lead, handing Zanghi the loss.
With the loss the Scorpions fall to (5-4) on the season but remain in a tie for first place as Salt River and Mesa also both lost. The Peoria Javelinas improved to (6-3).

In was the second inning, a double and two walks loaded the bases with two outs. The ensuing two out rally would drive Copeland out of this game as he surrender three straight singles, allowing four runs to score. Despite fifteen hits for the Naranjeros, Brentz was relatively quiet in this one. After his RBI single in the bottom of the first inning, Brentz would not contribute any further to the team’s victory.
