1963: Jim Hickman hit the last home run at the Polo Grounds in the stadium’s last game.

1975: Dave Kingman slugs his 35th home run of the season, setting the franchise record at the time. Kingman finished the season with 36 home runs. Rusty Staub drove in his 100th run of the year, becoming the first Met to reach the milestone.

1987: Darryl Strawberry launches his 37th home run of the season, breaking Kingman’s franchise record.

2006: The Mets defeat the Marlins to clinch the NL East title for the first time since 1988.
