As per Mike Puma of the New York Post, New York Mets reliever Anthony Swarzak is “likely to return on the Mets next homestand.”

The Mets return home from their nine-game road trip on Friday when they begin a three-game set with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Swarzak, 32, signed a two-year, $14 million deal with the Mets this past offseason after splitting the 2017 season with the White Sox and the Brewers.

The right-hander has pitched in just 22 games in 2018 while dealing with injuries (oblique, shoulder), owning a 6.00 earned-run average, 10.3 strikeouts and 4.3 walks per nine innings, respectively.

Swarzak made a rehab appearance with Short Season-A Brooklyn on Monday night, pitching one inning with two strikeouts.
