Good Morning, Mets fans!

Today, Steven Matz (1-2, 4.98 ERA) will face off against Chad Bettis (3-1, 2.43 ERA). Much like the rest of the Mets rotation, Matz struggled in his last start, giving up seven runs in 3.1 innings. Today’s game will be on SNY and 710 WOR at 7:10 P.M.

Yesterday was a nightmare, both on-the-field and off-the-field. On the field, the Rockies started the night off with a five-run frame off Zack Wheeler. Wheeler eventually settled down, but his final line wasn’t pretty: six innings, 10 hits, eight earned runs allowed.

The Mets offense managed to perk up late, but it wasn’t enough. Asdrubal Cabrera led it off with a two-run shot in the first. Todd Frazier brought the Mets closer with a two-run of his own in eighth innings. In the final frame, the Mets at least made it interesting, but ultimately it was not enough. They lost their fourth straight contest by a score of 8-7.
