Here’s a compilation of pics and videos from today’s Mets workout at First Data Field in Port St. Lucie. Most of the photos were shot by our photographer Ed Delany who has taken some really great shots as you will see.

Today we learned that Adrian Gonzalez was all set to re-sign with the Los Angeles Dodgers in a part time role, but then the Mets came knocking with a full-time opportunity. He actually had offers from two teams before ultimately deciding to join the Mets.

Tim Tebow is always drawing crowds wherever he is in Mets camp. He’s always smiling, always taking time out to talk with fans, and signing plenty of autographs as well. His popularity went up a few ticks after Sandy Alderson predicted he would be a major leaguer at some point in the future.

With Michael Conforto out until at least May 1, Juan Lagares is in the spotlight and he’s taking it all in. Armed with a new swing and a new attitude, Lagares is drawing raves from his new coaches and manager for his work ethic in camp. He was one of the earliest position players to report to camp.

Luis Guillorme has been putting on a dazzling defensive clinic at second base during Mets fielding drills. He’s as good as advertised and he could push the envelope at some point this season.

Amed Rosario has been billed as the future of this franchise by many and has even earned some Francisco Lindor and prime Jose Reyes comparisons. He was viewed by many scouts as the top prospect in baseball. Thus, it makes sense that Mets fans are going to be excited to watch him play.

After posting a 1.209 WHIP and striking out better than a batter per inning in his MLB debut, big things are expected from Paul Sewald who is being counted on to pitch his way onto the Mets Opening Day roster. Don’t bet against him.

When Mickey Callaway speaks everyone is listening as he helms his first major league camp as a manager. There’s a great vibe throughout First Data Field and Mickey has everybody believing in themselves. You can tell that as he roams around camp observing all the bullpens, fielding drills, and batting practice, that he’s forming a plan. The guy’s very intense.

Travis d’Arnaud got married over the winter and comes to camp a new man. He raved about all the offseason moves the Mets made and says he’s ready to get back into the postseason in 2018.

Last spring training, Noah Syndergaard said his goal was to throw harder than the previous season, when his fastball averaged an MLB best 98 mph. Syndergaard says he won’t focus on velocity this year, just getting outs.

Currently the only left-hander in the Mets bullpen, Jerry Blevins is excited to be part of Mickey Callaway’s new closer by committee approach. Blevins has five career saves, including three with the Mets in three seasons.

With no options left, Rafael Montero figures to be in the bullpen, especially with the addition of Jason Vargas to the rotation. Montero made 34 appearances for the Mets last season including 18 starts. However his 1.749 WHIP leaves plenty of room for improvement.
That’s all for today….
