The Mets on Tuesday announced a pair of minor league acquisitions, acquiring outfielder Travis Snider from the Texas Rangers in exchange for cash, and signing right-handed pitcher Neil Wagner. Both players will report to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Snider, 29, most recently appeared in the major leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2015.
At the time of the trade, Snider was playing for Texas’ Triple-A affiliate Round Rock Express.
The veteran has appeared in 100 games for Round Rock this year, hitting .294/.375/.435 with nine home runs and 44 RBI.
In eight big league seasons, Snider is a .244/.311/.399 hitter with 54 homers and 212 RBI. He is perhaps best known in Mets history for scaling the wall in right field to rob a home run off the bat of Mike Baxter in 2012.

In addition to Snider, joining the 51’s is pitcher Neil Wagner.
Wagner, 33, last appeared in the majors in 2014 with the Toronto Blue Jays, pitching in 10 games and recording an 8.10 ERA.
The righty was released by the Tampa Bay Rays on Aug. 2 after tossing 44 innings for their Triple-A affiliate, the Durham Bulls.
In 32 games for Durham, Wagner was 0-1 with a 3.07 ERA.
