The New York Mets (22-27) defeated the Milwaukee Brewers (27-24) by a score of 4-2 on Memorial Day at Citi Field.
Pitching
Robert Gsellman got the nod for the Mets on Monday and turned in his best outing of the 2017 season as the righty fired seven strong innings.
Gsellman started the game with four scoreless innings, before allowing a run in the fifth and sixth innings.
He scattered three hits and walked two while striking out five.
Paul Sewald followed suit with another strong performance out of the bullpen, tossing a clean eighth.
Despite putting a couple base runners on, Addison Reed was able to buckle down and seal the deal for the Mets in the ninth.

Offense
The Brewers got on the board first in the fifth, but the Mets answered back in the bottom half of the frame with three runs of their own.
With two men on for Rene Rivera, the catcher ripped a double to left to knot the ballgame up.
Gsellman then helped his own cause with a sacrifice fly and Michael Conforto gave the Mets some breathing room with a laser down the right field line to plate the third run of the inning.
The Brewers got back within a run, but the Mets got the run right back as Gsellman drew a bases loaded walk in the sixth.
On deck
The Mets continue their series with the Brew Crew on Wednesday as Tyler Pill (0-1, 13.50 ERA) looks to give the Mets the series victory. Zach Davies (5-3, 5.33 ERA) gets the ball for Milwaukee and first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
