RHP Bartolo Colon (4-3, 3.39) vs. LHP Justin Nicolino (2-3, 4.50)
SNY • WOR 710 AM • ESPN 1050 AM
The Mets needed that win last night. After losing a couple of games in a row, and then learning that team captain David Wright would be out until late August, the joy was starting to escape Metsville. Luckily, Noah Syndergaard rose to the occasion and gave the Mets a gutsy performance aided by home runs from Asdrubal Cabrera, James Loney and Rene Rivera. Today the Mets look for the series win behind Bartolo Colon as he opposes southpaw Justin Nicolino.
The Mets are 6-6 vs. left-handers this season. Including today, the Mets are scheduled to face
left-handed starters in three of their next five games.
