Second baseman Dilson Herrera tripled and scored the go-ahead run and Hansel Robles produced a four-out save as the Mets beat the Astros, 3-1 on Saturday. Antonio Bastardo, Josh Smoker, Zack Thornton, Seth Lugo, Jeff Walters and Hansel Robles combined for seven scoreless relief innings.
The Mets are considering having Kevin Plawecki open the season at Triple-A Las Vegas because his playing time behind Travis d’Arnaud at the major league level may be limited. Johnny Monell could start the season in his place.
