SNY play-by-play man Gary Cohen isn’t calling any Mets postseason games on TV or Radio this year, but he sure did light up the airwaves on Monday with his negative remarks and five-minute rant about Daniel Murphy during an interview on WFAN with Joe and Evan.

“I have no interest in Daniel Murphy, none. I have zero desire in bringing back Daniel Murphy.” Cohen told both hosts.

“He’s not a big power hitter. He’s a good hitter, he’s a good hitter. He’s a good sixth or seventh hitter in a good lineup. That’s what he is.”

“And that’s not all. He hurts you so badly in the field and on the bases, and with all the craziness I think it’s time to move on … Murph is a lovable guy, but I think he’s a net negative, and I’ve always felt that way.”

Cohen concluded by telling Joe and Evan that knowing Sandy Alderson, the Mets GM will likely view the Daniel Murphy situation for what is. Whatever the heck that’s supposed to infer.

Well, cue Game 5 of the NL Division Series and let’s bring in comedian and notorious die-hard Mets fan Jim Breuer in for a few words.

The former Saturday Night Live personality went absolutely delirious after last night’s thrilling 3-2 win over the Dodgers – like most of us – and uploaded his best Mets video recap yet this season!

And neatly tucked into his typical gloriously insane blast, he also had some harsh words for Gary Cohen.

“We took you down, LA!” Breuer yelled. “Chase Utley, guess what you’re chasing? Nothing!!! Nothing!!! And shame on you, Gary Cohen, for putting down Daniel Murphy!!! Shame on you, Gary Cohen!!! … Daniel Murphy, MVP of the series!” (CBS Radio)

Make sure you check out this latest video, it was pretty awesome!
