
Albuquerque 3, Las Vegas (47-38) 0 Game One
The 51’s offense was limited to three hits by Rockies pitching prospect Jon Gray and former Colorado Rockie Rex Brothers who picked up the save. Matthew Bowman was the tough luck loser moving his record to 5-10 on the year.
Bowman pitched a complete game going 7 innings allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits, one walk, and struck out five while lowering his season ERA to 5.46. Matt was very efficient throwing 106 pitches (70 for strikes) and induced 12 groundball outs.
Darrell Ceciliani was 0-1 with two walks and his 7th stolen base in his first game back with the 51’s while playing center field and batting 2nd. Anthony Recker, Brandon Allen, and Wilfredo Tovar each has single in the game. Box Score
Las Vegas (48-38) 3, Albuquerque 1 Game Two
Darin Gorski had his best start of the year going 6 innings giving up one unearned run on three hits while striking out a season high ten hitters, previous high this year was six. Darin moved his record to 7-6 on the year and lowered his ERA to 4.76 for the year. Zack Thornton came into pitch a perfect 7th inning to collect his first save of the season for the 51’s.
Alex Castellanos provided all the offense Las Vegas would need with a two-run shot in the 3rd inning for his 15th homerun of the year. He finished 1-2 with a walk and now has 51 RBI on the year, he is hitting .343 over last 10 games. Quite honestly at this point I have no idea why he isn’t on the Major League roster instead of Eric Campbell. Brandon Allen went 2-3 with his 18th double, run scored, and drove in his 40th run of the season. Dilson Herrera went 1-3 with his 4th stolen base and scored a run. Matt Reynolds sat out both games with his elbow injury and T.J. Rivera was placed on the DL a few days ago. Box Score
Binghamton (42-41) 7, New Britain 0
Binghamton pitching combined to allow only three hits and two walks on the night and the offense was clutch going 4-8 with runners in scoring position. Xorge Carrillo got the offense going with a solo homerun in the 2nd inning for his fourth of the year. Carrillo finished 2-4 with his 9th double, scored two runs, and also knocked in two runs giving him 21 RBI in the year.
Gavin Cecchini was 3-5 with a run scored to extend his hitting streak to 8 games and made a couple of good plays on defense. Gavin is 12-37 with six runs scored during his hitting streak. Brandon Nimmo was 3-4, scored two runs, and drove in his 13th run of the year. Josh Rodriguez was 1-4 with a two-run double giving him 53 RBI on the year which is good for 2nd in the Eastern League. Michael Conforto was out of the lineup to get a breather after a 0-5 night and hitting only .222/.279/.317 with 15 strikeouts over his last 16 games.
Seth Lugo had his second straight good start going pitching 6 scoreless innings allowing only two hits and two walks while striking out four. Lugo kept the ball down all night inudcing 10 groundball outs compared to three flyball outs to pick up his 3rd win of the season. Lugo lowered his ERA 3.86, WHIP down to 1.22, and is holding the league to a .254 average. Matt Koch pitched two scoreless innings allowing one runner and struck out two. Akeel Morris pitched a perfect 9th inning with a strikeout and bounced back from giving up six runs in his last 2.1 innings pitched. Box Score
Charlotte 5, St. Lucie (40-43) 3
The St. Lucie offense had plenty of scoring chances but could never get the big hit going 0-9 with runners in scoring position leaving eight men on base. The Mets also got some good starting pitching from Logan Taylor but the defense made two errors letting two unearned runs score.
Taylor went 8 innings giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out two. His record fell to 2-7 while lowering his average to 4.80 the batting average against him to .271 for the year. Jeff Walters had his rehab stint moved to St. Lucie after 6 appearances with the GCL Mets and allowed one run on two hits while striking out one.
Champ Stuart got the St. Lucie offense started hitting a leadoff homerun for the Mets in the bottom of the 1st, he was 1-4 with a walk with two strikeouts. Champ is hitting just .197 with 100 strikeouts in 67 games. Stefan Sabol was the only Met with multiple hits going 2-3 with a walk. Greenville 7, Savannah (43-39) 5
Very unusual offensive night with Savannah scoring five runs on only three hits and eight walks including going 2-11 with runners in scoring position while stranding seven baserunners. However the Sand Gnats still had a 5-4 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th before the bullpen gave up three runs combined in the 6th and 7th innings.
Edioglis Villasmil made his first start since 2011 in the Mets system lasting 2.2 innings allowing four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five hitters. Alberto Baldonado gave Savannah some length going 3 innings out of the pen but took his 6th loss of the season giving up two runs on three walks and a hit. Despite the 0-6 record Alberto has pitched well holding the league to a .187 average and posting a 1.09 WHIP. Tim Peterson made his 2nd appearance of the year pitching a scoreless 8th inning issuing a walk and striking out one.
Jonathan Johnson was 1-3 with two walks, RBI, and scored a run while batting leadoff and playing second base. Patrick Biondi reached base three times with his 3rd triple of the year and scored two runs on the night. John Mora was 0-3 with a walk and his 39th RBI of the season. Eudor Garcia had his homerun streak snapped at two in his 0-3 night. Yoan Moncada was 3-4 with a walk, RBI, 2B, and two runs scored for Greenville. Box Score

Kingsport (8-7) 6, Greeneville 4
The Mets won thanks some early offense scoring all their runs in the first three innings despite going 3-14 with runners in scoring position. Shortstop prospect Luis Carpio was 3-5 with his 3rd double and four RBI raising his season average to .265. Patrick Mazeika was 1-3 with a walk and a run scored while Dash Winningham was 0-3 with a walk. Raphael Ramirez was 0-5 with five strikeouts lowering his average to .277 on the year.
Taylor Henry,21st round, made his 2nd pro appearance pitching a perfect 9th inning with two strikeouts to pick up his 2nd save. Box Score

DSL Mets1 won 4-0 with catching prospect Juan Uriarte going 1-3 with a walk and a two-run double while also throwing out both runners who tried to steal 2nd base. Box Score
