Bartolo Colon (3-0, 2.25 ERA) will take the mound on Thursday as the Mets play the finale of their three game series against the Atlanta Braves. RHP Julio Teheran (2-0, 3.71) will oppose Colon in a 1:10 PM start at Citi Field.

If the Mets sweep the Braves, they will win their 11th straight game duplicating the longest winning streaks in franchise history. The 1969, ’72, ’86 and ’90 teams all had winning streaks of that length.

Backup catcher Anthony Recker was diagnosed with a bone spur at the back of his right elbow. Recker plans to play the rest of the season with the injury, and may need to have the spur removed after the season.

The Mets acquired minor league catcher Dan Rohlfing from the Minnesota Twins for cash to bolster their organizational depth. He was assigned to Las Vegas.

Bartolo Colon, the man who started this streak, heads to the bump today with a 3-0 record over 20.0 innings with a 2.25 ERA. He’s allowed 15 hits this season, walked 1 and struck out 18 batters. His second start of the season, the one that stopped the Mets two game slide, was against the Braves and started this magical run.
