Becerra continued his solid start with his new club adding two more base hits to his stat line. The first hit was a sharp grounder up the middle that deflected off of the pitcher Guillermo Moscoso but he was quickly taken off the basepaths on a fielder’s choice groundout by the next batter. In the top of the sixth inning, with the Magallanes down 3-1, Becerra would get a huge opportunity to drive in his first RBI for his new team as he came up to bat with the bases loaded and only one out. The baseball gods were not on his side though as he a line drive the other way….but right at the first baseman to record the out. Becerra would pick up another base hit through the left side of the infield in the top of the eighth inning to put runners on first and second with only one out, but his teammates were unable to drive him in.

Dominican Winter League (LIDOM)

Leones del Escogido 2 – 1 Gigantes del Cibao

Terdoslavich had an RBI chance in the first inning of this game with two outs and a runner on third thanks to a lead-off single by Ramon Torres, followed by a stolen base and a passed ball. He got a solid 1-1 pitch to hit but just got under it, flying out to center field. With the Gigantes down 2-0 in the top of the fourth inning, a one-out walk and wild pitch put Moises Sierra at second base with Terdoslavich at the plate. This time, he would capitalize on his RBI chance with a hard hit a line drive single to right fielder Cesar Puello. Puello would misplay the ball which allowed Terdoslavich to advance all the way to third base on the place but he would be stranded there. In Terdoslavich’s other two AB, he would fly out to right field and ground out to the pitcher.

Toros del Este 7 – 3 Estrellas Orientales

Clearly, no pre-season work with the club was needed for the Toros two Mets American imports as both were big contributors to the team’s win. With a 4-3 lead for the Toros in the top of the eighth inning, reliever Michael Dimock allowed a lead-off single and a four-pitch walk to put runners on first and second with only one out. The Toros would call on righty Tim Peterson to get them out of the jam and he responded by striking out Angelo Mora and getting Yadiel Hernandez to ground out to maintain the one-run lead. After a lead-off double by Jordany Valdespin, a single by Jacob Wilson, an RBI single by Sean Murphy, and a passed ball, Dom Smith would give the club some additional insurance runs with a two-RBI single up the middle to extend the lead to 7-3. Peterson would return to the mound in the ninth inning to close the game out and earn his first save of the season (since he originally entered the game with a one-run lead) to secure the win.

Aguilas Cibaenas 2 – 1 Tigres del Licey

Mora entered the game in the top of the eighth inning for Eugenio Velez and recorded one put out.
