Pobereyko continues to show that he’s ready for the jump to (AAA) as he completed his fourth straight scoreless playoff appearance of the Round Robin stage. He was brought into the game in the bottom of the seventh inning and generated weak contact from all three players he faced. Wilkin Castillo led off the inning with a pop out to second base followed by ground outs up the middle by both Jimmy Paredes and Cesar Puello.

Nido’s defensive prowess was on full display today for the Indios de Mayaguez as he made excellent plays on a pair of inning ending double plays. In the top of the first inning with the bases loaded and only one out, Jan Hernandez hit a soft grounder back to the pitcher who toss it to Nido for the force out at home. Nido stretched to get the out, stepped up, and fired a rocket to first base to get the out at first base as well to end the inning. After scoring two runs in the seventh inning, Nido would be needed again as the Cangrejeros would load the bases up again with only one out. A sacrifice fly attempt to center field by A.J. Gimenez would be foiled as Jay Gonzalez threw a strike from center field to Nido who applied a quick stretch tag to get the out at home as well.
Joshua Torres continued his recent stretch of strong performances as he converted his fourth save in four straight appearances giving him a league leading total of eleven for the season.
