Triple-A

The Syracuse Mets dropped a series against the Buffalo Bisons this past week, winning two of the six-game set. The Mets dropped both ends of a doubleheader to begin the series before salvaging the rest of the set by splitting the final four games. Syracuse is 7-8 through their first 15 games.

Offense was hard to come by for Syracuse against Buffalo. Cristian Pache had perhaps the most success at the plate, going 4-for-17 with a single, double, triple and a home run. He also stole a base and drove in two runs, which tied a team-high for the series. Pache has been off to a pretty slow start overall, owning a .639 OPS through 12 games.

Nick Morabito was the only other Met to record a home run in the series, and he also tied Pache with two runs driven in. Morabito went 4-for-17 with the home run, also walking once. Morabito owns an .844 OPS through his first 12 games at Triple-A.

Christian Scott looked excellent in his second start of the year, tossing five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts. Scott allowed just two hits, a walk, and hit a batter in what was a major improvement from his first start of the year.

Jonah Tong had a solid start, allowing two runs in five innings with seven strikeouts. Tong allowed just one hit, two walks, and a hit batter as he now owns a 5.06 ERA through three starts.

Jack Wenninger continues to look impressive in his first Triple-A action. In his start against Buffalo, Wenninger allowed two runs (one earned) in 4 2/3 innings. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out five. Wenninger has a 1.00 ERA in two starts.

Double-A

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies won their first six-game series of the season, defeating the Somerset Patriots four games to two. Like Syracuse, Binghamton also started off the series with a doubleheader, which the Rumble Ponies swept before splitting the final four games of the series. The Rumble Ponies are 5-3 in the early going.

Binghamton’s bats were hot in their series against Somerset. Chris Suero led the way, going 5-for-16 with two home runs, five RBIs, six walks and three stolen bases. Suero also added a double and scored six runs. The versatile Suero, who broke out in 2025, is continuing his ascension early this season as he owns a 1.258 OPS in six games.

Jose Ramos also had an excellent week, going 5-for-15 with two home runs, seven RBIs, five walks and a stolen base. Ramos also scored a team-high seven runs. The 25-year-old has a .909 OPS in six games this year.

A.J. Ewing and Wyatt Young also contributed on offense for Binghamton. Ewing had a great series, going 6-for-17 with three doubles, six walks and two stolen bases. He owns a 1.067 OPS through seven games. Young went 5-for-15 with two doubles, a home run and seven RBIs. Young also walked three times. His OPS through six games is .890.

On the mound:

• Bryce Conley had an excellent start, allowing no runs in four innings on four hits, a walk, a hit batter and six strikeouts. Conley, who spent 2025 in the Nationals organization, has a 1.29 ERA in two appearances (one start).
• Zach Thornton also impressed in his start, making his first appearance since missing most of the 2025 season due to injury. He allowed just a run in 5 1/3 innings, allowing two hits and a walk with four strikeouts. His ERA through one start is 1.69.
• Jordan Geber tossed four scoreless innings across two outings, one of which was a start. Geber allowed just five baserunners and struck out four batters. These were his first two appearances of the year, so he has yet to allow a run.

High-A

The Brooklyn Cyclones fell four games to two to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws this past week. Brooklyn dropped each of the first three games of the series before taking two of the final three. They are off to a 2-6 start to the year.

The Cyclones’ series against the BlueClaws was a tough one from an offensive standpoint. Corey Collins had the best numbers despite going just 4-for-16 with a triple. He drove in two runs and scored a run of his own. In five games, Collins, who has either struggled or been injured for most of his professional career, has a .604 OPS.

Mitch Voit also had pedestrian numbers, but they stand out compared to his teammates. The Mets’ 2025 first-round pick went 6-for-21 with two doubles, two walks and a stolen base. Voit has just a .614 OPS through seven games.

The team’s pitching, while not stellar, certainly fared better than the offense. Irving Cota was the star of the pitching staff for the week. Cota made two appearances, including a start, and he tossed 6 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed four hits, two walks, a hit batter and struck out three.

Noah Hall and Channing Austin delivered decent starts for the team. Hall allowed two runs in 4 2/3 innings with five strikeouts, while Austin allowed one run in four innings with four strikeouts. Hall has a 3.86 ERA through two starts and Austin has a 2.25 ERA after his lone start of the year.

Juan Arnaud and Parker Carlson were excellent out of the bullpen. Arnaud threw three hitless innings with a walk and four strikeouts across two outings, while Carlson was perfect over two innings with five strikeouts in his lone outing. Both pitchers still have a 0.00 ERA.

Low-A

The St. Lucie Mets had an interesting week, having a game suspended and then resumed later in the week, while also playing another doubleheader all due to rain. It was a tough week for St. Lucie, who dropped four of six games to the Dunedin Blue Jays. The Mets are 4-5 to begin the year.

Elian Peña continues to be very impressive early in his stateside career. The Mets’ prized prospect went 6-for-18 with a double, a home run, two walks and two stolen bases. Peña drove in two runs and scored two of his own. Through eight games, Peña owns a stellar .933 OPS.

AJ Salgado, an undrafted free agent the Mets signed in 2025, has also been off to a torrid start in 2026. Salgado had a fantastic week, going 9-for-20 with a double and three walks. Salgado drove in three runs and scored five. He has a .911 OPS through his first nine games of the season.

JT Benson, who the Mets signed out of independent ball, and Sam Robertson, who the Mets drafted in the 17th round in 2025, also impressed in the first full series of the season. Benson went 6-for-11 with two doubles, a triple and a stolen base. His OPS through six games is 1.167. Robertson went 7-for-17 with a team-high eight RBIs and a team-high six stolen bases, all without getting caught. Robertson has an .830 OPS through seven games.

Pitching was the reason for St. Lucie’s lack of success in this series. The best start of the six games came from Omar Victorino, who allowed three runs (one earned) in four innings. He struck out four through his outing and has a 2.57 ERA through two appearances this season.

Out of the bullpen, A.J. Minter and Nate Lavender each completed two rehab appearances. Neither allowed a run as they both work their way back to full speed.

Tyler McLoughlin looked great out of the bullpen, throwing 2 2/3 hitless innings in his lone appearance. McLoughlin, who the Mets selected in the 10th round in 2025, has a 6.23 ERA in two appearances.

Players of the Week

Offense – Chris Suero, C/1B/LF Binghamton

Chris Suero has only gotten better as he spends more time in the Mets’ system. The 22-year-old is off to a scorching start in 2026 after a successful 2025 campaign. His biggest struggles a year ago came in Binghamton, so it’s a great sign to see him look more comfortable early in the season. Continuing this level of play could have him in Syracuse before too long.

Pitching – Irving Cota, P Brooklyn

Irving Cota is a pitcher who flies under the radar in the Mets’ system, but he has been solid for a few years now. He had a down 2025, but he’s off to a great start in 2026. The 22-year-old threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings in his first appearance of the season before getting a start and tossing three more scoreless innings.

The beginning of the game was defined by the starters’ elevated pitch counts and the lack of production with runners on base. Both Frankie Montas and Dylan Cease threw a ton of pitches and created traffic on the basepaths, but they were both able to limit the opposition to just one run each through the first four innings. In that span, both pitchers left five runners stranded.

A pivotal moment in the game occurred at the top of the third inning, when the home plate umpire made two questionable strike calls on Juan Soto, who struck out looking. Soto was incensed, and to save him from being ejected, Carlos Mendoza sacrificed himself and got himself booted from the game. It was Mendoza’s third ejection of the season, and it caused him to miss the rest of what turned into a crazy game.

Just an inning later, Mark Vientos nearly had a two-run, go-ahead home run to give the Mets the lead. He sent a pitch by Cease deep to right field, over the wall, but Fernando Tatis Jr. made a brilliant leaping grab over the wall to bring it back and rob Vientos. The play kept the game tied at one, and Cease was able to get out of the inning without allowing the Mets to score.

In his next at-bat the following inning, with two outs and the bases loaded, Vientos lifted another Cease pitch to the same area of the ballpark. This time, it went way over Tatis’ head and gave Vientos that elusive home run he nearly had the previous inning, his first long ball in two months. This one was grand, turning a 1-1 tie into a 5-1 lead.

That statement slam didn’t last long, as Montas and Huascar Brazobán melted down in the bottom of the inning. The two combined to surrender five runs, including a two-run shot off the bat of Luis Arráez and a would-be, inning-ending ground ball out that Brazobán was too slow covering first to get. A massive shot of momentum for the Mets quickly turned in favor of the Padres, who now held a 6-5 lead.

After Brazobán was finally able to get out of the fifth inning, the game became much milder with neither team scoring until yet another crazy inning in the ninth. Adrián Morejón, Jeremiah Estrada and Jason Adam combined for three hitless innings, bridging the way to closer Robert Suarez. Suarez, who had only allowed one home run all season before Monday’s game, left a fastball middle-away for Ronny Mauricio, who crushed it over the wall in right-center field. Mauricio’s second home run in as many games tied the game and sent it to the bottom of the ninth.

The bottom of the inning began as a disaster, with a single and a Gregory Soto throwing error on a sacrifice bunt, putting the winning run on second with no outs. Soto quickly recorded two outs on a fielder’s choice and a strikeout, but with one out to go and in a two-strike count, Elias Díaz lined a base hit into left field to secure a Padres walk-off win.

The Mets’ loss ends their win streak at seven games and keeps them 1.5 games ahead of the Phillies in the National League East.

Player of the Game

Mark Vientos’ grand slam was massive in the moment, considering how it affected the game, but also considering the trade chatter surrounding Vientos recently. He’s had a really rough season, but he’s swung the bat well lately and was rewarded (almost twice) for it tonight.

On Deck

The Mets continue their series with the Padres Tuesday night with first pitch scheduled for 9:40 p.m. ET. Sean Manaea (1-1, 2.19 ERA) will take the mound for New York while San Diego’s starter is to be determined. The game will air on SNY and MLB Network.

The Syracuse Mets concluded their season in walk-off fashion, defeating the Charlotte Knights 5-4 in 10 innings. With their win, Syracuse finished the 2024 season with a 78-71 record, a disappointing mark given their first-half successes. However, it’s a vast improvement from their 61-85 record in 2023.

The Mets used seven pitchers to get through 10 innings, with Mike Vasil going four innings as the starter. Considering how his season went, it was a relatively positive outing despite not being too notable otherwise. The Mets got four scoreless innings from four separate relievers following Vasil’s departure before Luis Moreno and Wilkin Ramos coughed up the lead in the ninth. Fortunately, Ramos pitched an easy 10th inning to set Syracuse up for victory.

Washington starter Jake Irvin (10-12, 4.07 ERA) feasted on the Mets’ lineup in his third start against them this year. He looked much more like the version of himself that allowed one hit in eight scoreless innings to the Mets on July 4 and not the version that allowed six runs to the Mets just five days later.

Irvin again pitched into the eighth inning, but this time it came back to bite the Nats. He got pulled with one out and a runner on second after he allowed a double to Tyrone Taylor. Taylor advanced to third on a groundout before crossing home on an infield single from Jose Iglesias.

Iglesias’ hit was critical as it drove in the Mets’ first run to tie the game 1-1. Washington had scored earlier in the game on a José Tena RBI single in the fourth inning, but Sean Manaea (11-5, 3.26) was otherwise his brilliant self to keep the Mets squarely in the game. Manaea allowed just one run in seven innings of work, his seventh straight outing of at least 6 2/3 innings.

The pitchers’ duel between Manaea and Irvin put the game in the hands of the bullpens, and José Buttó did his part by pitching a scoreless eighth. Edwin Díaz followed suit with a scoreless ninth despite allowing James Wood to reach third base as the go-ahead run. Jose A. Ferrer matched Díaz with a scoreless ninth inning, pushing the game into extras.

Reed Garrett did an excellent job in the 10th inning, keeping the Nationals scoreless despite an inning-opening sacrifice bunt to move the runner over. With the perfect chance to walk off the game, Francisco Alvarez hit a deep sacrifice fly to advance Harrison Bader to third before Starling Marte delivered the winning hit with a line drive into left field.

Despite being down 1-0 in the eighth inning, the Mets managed to win another game in which their offense was nearly nonexistent. The victory moves the Mets to 82-68 on the year and keeps them in the final Wild Card spot.

Statistic of the Game: Consistency is Key

Sean Manaea has pitched at least 6 2/3 innings in each of his last seven starts. He is the only pitcher in MLB this season to accomplish this feat. After he started the year unable to go deep into games, Manaea has completely reinvented himself, turning into one of the best pitchers in baseball. Over his last seven starts, Manaea has tossed 48 innings with a 2.81 ERA.

Player of the Game

Starling Marte is the player of the game for delivering the winning hit. He entered the game in the eighth inning as a pinch-hitter and recorded a one-pitch groundout, but his last at-bat was the one that mattered. Marte entered Monday with a .569 OPS in his last 24 games, so hopefully, this can be the moment that turns things around for him.

On Deck

The Mets and Nationals continue their series on Tuesday evening. Tylor Megill (3-5, 4.48 ERA) will go against lefty Mitchell Parker (7-9, 4.24 ERA). Megill has struggled against Washington in his career, owning a 5.83 ERA in seven appearances. Parker, in his rookie year, has pitched just once against New York, and he allowed five runs in six innings of work.

The game will air on SNY, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.

Despite their best efforts, Syracuse could not complete the win as they failed to score in each of their two extra innings. They did, however, tie the game in the bottom of the ninth after entering the inning down 7-3, as Carlos Cortes (solo homer) and Joe Hudson (three-run homer) willed the team to extras.

Brandon Sproat had yet another rough outing for Syracuse, allowing five runs in four innings of work. Justin Jarvis worked two scoreless innings to stop the bleeding, but Max Kranick and Matt Gage each allowed a run in the following two innings. Shintaro Fujinami continued his fantastic run with two perfect innings before Joey Lucchesi surrendered a sacrifice fly in an inning of work to become the losing pitcher.

Double-A

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Somerset Patriots 2-1. There was very little offense, as Binghamton scored two runs in the first inning on a pair of RBI singles but were shut out for the remainder of the game. The Rumble Ponies scored two runs on six hits, all of which were singles, and struck out 12 times.

Luckily for the Rumble Ponies, they didn’t need much offense because they held the Patriots to just one in a fantastic performance from the pitching staff. Jonathan Pintaro tossed six shutout innings before Joshua Cornielly got into trouble in the seventh. However, Wilkin Ramos locked it down for the final two innings to secure the one-run win.

High-A

In their final game of the season, the Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks 5-4. The Cyclones went up 1-0 in the first on a triple from Boston Baro, who had a phenomenal day at the plate. He went 3-for-3 with a triple, two doubles, a walk, and an RBI, totaling seven bases and reaching base in all four plate appearances. Brooklyn was up 4-3 in the middle innings before Wilmington tied it in the fifth. The game remained 4-4 until the eighth inning when Kevin Villavicencio delivered the game-winning hit with an RBI single.

The Cyclones used seven pitchers to get through the game, with starting pitcher Zach Thornton struggling through 2 1/3 innings of work. The bullpen behind him did a phenomenal job, however, with six pitchers combining to allow one earned run in 6 2/3 innings of work. Gregori Louis, who has been phenomenal this year at every level he’s pitched, threw 1 2/3 perfect innings, while Jake Stevenson and Alfred Vega each tossed a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts. Vega recorded the save, while Luis Moreno picked up the win with a scoreless inning.

Low-A

The St. Lucie Mets did not end their season on a high note as the Brooklyn Cyclones did, falling to the Clearwater Threshers 10-7 in 10 innings. While the final score might suggest a high-scoring game, only three of the Mets’ seven runs were earned, as four runs were the direct result of either an error or a wild pitch. Clearwater had three total errors, allowing St. Lucie to enter the ninth inning up 6-4. Clearwater tied it in the ninth before walking it off in the tenth with a three-run homer.

The pitching effort from St. Lucie was ugly overall, as only Edgar Moreta and Irving Cota had clean outings. Together, they combined for five perfect innings; however, it was pretty brutal. Brendan Girton, the Mets’ 10th-round pick out of the University of Oklahoma, allowed two runs and five baserunners in an inning of work, while Joseph Yabbour allowed five earned runs on six hits while recording just five outs.

The Rumble Ponies would add another run, but it wouldn’t be enough to win. The lone run-scoring hits came from a Matt Rudick homer and Jaylen Palmer RBI double.

The Mets allowed five runs, all within the first two innings. An implosion in the first inning by starter Jorge De Leon led to four runs, which prompted the Mets to yank De Leon from the game after recording just two outs. In 8 1/3, four relievers combined to allow just one run. Brayhans Barreto and Edgar Moreta did the bulk of the work, combing for 6 1/3 innings, while 2024 12th-round pick Ethan Lanthier made his pro debut with a scoreless inning. Despite the fantastic effort from the bullpen, the Mets couldn’t overcome a sloppy first inning.

One of the day’s highlights was a grand slam for St. Lucie off the bat of A.J. Ewing, whose four-run shot walked off the game in the bottom of the ninth. Drew Gilbert continued his power surge for Syracuse, slugging a three-run homer, his third in the past week.

Drew Gilbert hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to bring the Mets closer. While it didn’t help the team win, it was Gilbert’s third home run in the past five games, as he has looked good after missing an extended period.

Dom Hamel struggled as the starter, earning his seventh loss of the year, while Tyler Zuber, Grant Hartwig, and Max Kranick allowed runs out of the bullpen. Zuber’s outing was especially troubling, as he allowed four runs while recording just two outs.

The game was 1-1 heading into extras, with both teams struggling offensively. Outside of Palmer’s two hits, the rest of Binghamton’s offense recorded three hits, with two coming from Wyatt Young.

It was a wonderfully pitched game by Binghamton’s staff. Nolan McLean started the game and had a successful outing despite not making it through five innings. Cameron Foster, Daniel Juarez, and TJ Shook relieved him and combined for 5 1/3 scoreless innings to secure the win. Shook earned the victory, tossing two perfect innings to end the game.

A.J. Ewing’s walk-off grand slam capped off a thrilling come-from-behind victory in which St. Lucie overcame a 5-1 deficit in the ninth inning and scored a whopping seven runs. The first run of the ninth inning scored on a fielder’s choice before two more came home on a double from Yohairo Cuevas. A.J. Ewing’s grand slam ended it and gave St. Lucie a victory to end the series.

His outing was spoiled by a tumultuous rehab appearance from Reed Garrett, who allowed three runs and five baserunners in just one-third of an inning. Sean Reid-Foley also struggled in his rehab appearance, walking three in two-thirds of an inning.

Interestingly enough, Aberdeen went out in front 4-0 within the first three innings, but the Cyclones stormed back with six unanswered runs. Mateo Gil played hero, recording three separate RBI hits.

The Mets received some prospect promotion news on Sunday, with Trey McLoughlin moving up from Double-A Binghamton. McLoughlin pitched to a 2.08 ERA in 30 1/3 innings of work with the Rumble Ponies.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 4-2. It was a low-scoring game, with the teams heading into extras at 2-2. Stanley Consuegra and Jaylen Palmer both drove in runs in the 10th, with Consuegra hitting an RBI triple and Palmer grounding into a fielder’s choice. Binghamton shut down Richmond in the bottom of the inning to secure the win.

The Binghamton pitching staff surrendered just two runs, with one coming off Luis Moreno and Nolan Clenney within the first six innings. Cam Robinson, Daniel Juarez, and TJ Shook combined for four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, with Robinson and Shook not allowing a baserunner. Shook secured the win in what was his second appearance for Binghamton.

The Rumble Ponies also received some prospect promotion news, with Dakota Hawkins receiving the call from High-A Brooklyn. Hawkins had a 4.34 ERA in 66 1/3 innings pitched with the Cyclones.

The Brooklyn Cyclones won in comeback fashion, defeating the Rome Emperors 7-6. Rome scored four in the top of the fifth inning to go up 4-0 before Brooklyn tied it up in the bottom of the inning. Rome then scored two in the top of the sixth, holding a 6-4 lead into the bottom of the ninth. Jeffrey De Los Santos hit a two-run homer to tie the game before Omar De Los Santos delivered the walk-off blow.

Jonathan Pintaro had a decent start, allowing an earned run in 4 1/3 innings, but Henry Henry allowed Rome to extend their lead by allowing three runs without securing an out. After Brooklyn tied the game, Sean Reid-Foley struggled in his rehab appearance, surrendering two runs in two-thirds of an inning. Justin Lawson and Eduardo Herrera then shut it down as Brooklyn grabbed the win. Herrera was especially impressive, striking out five in two perfect innings of work.

Low-A

The St. Lucie Mets fell 5-1 to the Palm Beach Cardinals. The Mets’ lone run came in the first inning on a fielder’s choice groundout. The team mustered up only five hits and three walks all game, averaging less than one baserunner per inning.

Zach Thornton started the game and allowed an earned run in 2 1/3 innings before Brayhans Barreto let the game get away. Barreto, who began the year in the FCL, made his second appearance in Low-A St. Lucie and allowed four runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings. That allowed the Cardinals to go up 5-1, which remained the final score.

Wilson Lopez, Cristofer Gomez, and Alfred Vega all pitched a clean inning of relief, with Gomez and Vega finishing off the game with a combined two perfect innings.

A major factor in Syracuse’s success has been Tylor Megill, who impressed again this week with eight strikeouts in five scoreless innings. He has a 2.38 ERA in five starts with Syracuse and has been one of their most effective pitchers.

Triple-A

The Syracuse Mets won all three games in their series against the Rochester Red Wings, outscoring them 25-10.

Syracuse continues to roll through their competition, as they now sit at 14-7 in the second half of the season. Overall, they are 60-35.

Luisangel Acuña had a solid series, recording five hits in nine at-bats with a double, an RBI, and a stolen base. Acuña’s OPS on the year is now .680.

JT Schwartz is relatively new to Syracuse, only having played in eight games with the team, but he’s already making an impact. Schwartz went 4-for-13 with a double and a home run. He also drove in three runs while scoring three runs of his own. In his brief time in Syracuse, he has a .613 OPS.

Luke Ritter also recorded four hits, though he did so in 11 at-bats. He didn’t pick up any extra-base hits, but he did drive in four runs, which led the team during the three-game set. Ritter raised his season OPS to .846.

Kodai Senga made a rehab start for Syracuse but struggled, allowing five runs in three innings. He gave up eight hits and three walks while striking out one, putting together a concerning stat line. Still, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters he’s not too worried about Senga, whose next start will be his 2024 debut with the Major League club.

Dom Hamel made the final start of the series, allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings. Hamel only allowed five baserunners and struck out five in a performance that lowered his ERA to 6.49.

Double-A

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies lost their series 2-1 against the Erie SeaWolves. Binghamton took the first game of the series but only scored three runs in the final two games, dropping both. The first Binghamton loss ended a 10-game win streak for the club. In the second half of the season, the Rumble Ponies are 12-8. Overall, they are 47-40.

Stanley Consuegra was Binghamton’s standout offensive performer in the three-game series, going 4-for-9 with a home run, two walks, and a stolen base. Consuegra also drove in two runs and scored two runs. Still, the outfielder has just a .574 OPS in his short time with Binghamton.

Wyatt Young also recorded four hits in nine at-bats, tallying a double, an RBI, and two walks. The shortstop has been solid for the Rumble Ponies this year, owning a .722 OPS.

Ryan Clifford went just 1-for-7 in two games played, but, of course, his one hit was a home run. It was Clifford’s 13th with Binghamton, putting him in sole possession of first place on the team despite having over 100 fewer at-bats than Jeremiah Jackson, who is now in second place with 12. With the 1-for-7, Clifford’s OPS dropped to .921.

Brandon Sproat had an uncharacteristic start in that he wasn’t thoroughly dominant. He wasn’t awful, though, as he allowed three runs in four innings. He also struck out six batters, but his OPS with the Rumble Ponies rose to 2.41.

Nolan McLean had a better go of it in his start, allowing an earned run in four innings. He allowed just one hit but walked three and hit a batter. McLean, who is now devoting himself to pitching full-time, owns a 5.06 ERA in Binghamton.

Cameron Foster and Nolan Clenney had solid outings out of the bullpen, with Foster throwing three scoreless innings and Clenney throwing 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Foster allowed just one hit, a walk, and a hit batsman, while Clenney didn’t allow a single baserunner. Foster lowered his ERA to 3.98 on the year, while Clenney lowered his to 6.30.

High-A

The Brooklyn Cyclones lost their series to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws 2-1. Like Binghamton, Brooklyn took the first game but ultimately dropped the last two. Brooklyn has struggled in the second half, owning an 8-16 record, which puts them at 41-49 overall.

Omar De Los Santos was the standout player of the week in Brooklyn, as he went 4-for-10 with two home runs. He also added a double, a walk, and two stolen bases while scoring five runs and driving in three. De Los Santos is as speedy as they come but has not hit at all this year. With his fantastic effort, he raised his OPS on the season to .540.

Donovan Antonia, who started the year in the FCL, also looked great this week. He went 4-for-11 with a walk and a stolen base. He also scored two runs and drove in two. Antonia is still new to Brooklyn, and he’s struggled, owning a .563 OPS.

Karell Paz was another struggling outfielder who had a solid week, going 3-for-11 with a triple and a walk, scoring two runs and driving in one. Paz now owns a .635 OPS.

Kade Morris didn’t allow any earned runs in his start, but he allowed three unearned runs in 3 1/3 innings. He allowed six hits and hit a batter but also struck out eight. With the effort, his ERA with Brooklyn lowered to 3.33.

Jawilme Ramirez, Justin Lawson, and Ben Simon looked great out of the bullpen. Ramirez threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings, Lawson threw two scoreless, and Simon also threw two scoreless. They each lowered their ERAs on the season to 4.15, 3.38, and 4.21.

Low-A

The Jupiter Hammerheads swept the St. Lucie Mets despite the Mets scoring 20 runs in three games. St. Lucie suffered a one-run loss by a score of 5-4 and then lost 11-7 and 14-9. The pitching was not good at all, while the offense looked promising. St. Lucie is now 8-16 in the second half and 30-60 overall.

Boston Baro had a fantastic week for the Mets, going 7-for-11 with two doubles, a walk, and no strikeouts. He also scored four runs and drove in two. Baro has looked good for St. Lucie this year, owning a .770 OPS. Over his last nine games, Baro has a nine-game hit streak and is batting .440 with a .988 OPS.

Yohairo Cuevas went 5-for-14, recording a double, a triple, a walk, and a stolen base. While his five RBIs led the team in the series, Cuevas has struggled in 2024, owning a .602 OPS.

Kevin Villavicencio had a similar week to Cuevas, also tallying five hits, including a double and a triple. Villavicencio achieved this in just ten at-bats, though, and he also drove in three runs. Villavicencio has also struggled this year, owning a .609 OPS.

Saul Garcia had a solid start despite the overall struggles of the pitching staff. Garcia allowed no earned runs in 3 2/3 innings of work, lowering his ERA on the year to 6.02.

The only pitchers to appear in one inning or more and not allow a run were Layonel Ovalles and Juan Arnaud. Ovalles allowed no runs in two innings, while Arnaud threw one scoreless inning. Ovalles lowered his ERA to 6.55, while Arnaud lowered his to 5.00.

Florida Complex League Mets

The FCL Mets had many of their games postponed or canceled due to rain, so they only played two games and couldn’t finish another this past week, going 1-1. That puts them at 22-28, fourth place in the FCL East division.

Daiverson Gutierrez (1.024 season OPS) went 2-for-5 with a walk, while Jeremy Rodriguez (.755 season OPS) went 3-for-9 with a double. Christian Rodriguez (3.89 season ERA) struck out eight and allowed one run in four innings, while Daviel Hurtado (6.32 season ERA) allowed one run in three innings in his start.

Dominican Summer League Mets

The DSL Mets Orange went 3-0 this past week, improving their record to 15-17. They currently sit in sixth place in the DSL South division. Bohan Adderley (.704 season OPS) went 2-for-8 with two doubles, three walks, and two stolen bases, scoring six runs and driving in one. Justin Ramirez (.711 season OPS) recorded just one hit, but it was a home run. He also walked four times. Jonathan Jimenez (5.24 season ERA) struck out seven in five scoreless innings, while Deivy Paulino (2.86 season ERA) and Josue Morillo (3.92 season ERA) both threw four scoreless innings.

The DSL Mets Blue went 1-3 this past week, making their record for the year 12-21. They are in second-to-last place in the DSL East division. Haniel German (.757 season OPS) looked fantastic, hitting two home runs in 13 at-bats, while Vladi Guerrero (.548 season OPS) went 4-for-9 with two doubles. Johan Moreno (3.55 season ERA) struck out seven and allowed one earned run in 3 2/3 innings, while Leyvi Rodriguez (4.42 season ERA) struck out six and allowed one run in four innings.

Players of the Week

Offense – Boston Baro, IF St. Lucie

19-year-old Boston Baro has been great for the St. Lucie Mets in his first full professional baseball season. The lefty infielder doesn’t hit for much power as he has just three home runs in 61 games played this year, but he makes up for it with good contact ability and a solid eye at the plate.

Baro was just an eighth-round pick a year ago but already looks like a solid piece in the Mets’ farm system.

Pitching – Tylor Megill, P Syracuse

Tylor Megill lost his spot on the Major League roster after being unable to pitch effectively; he compiled a 5.08 ERA in eight starts. In Syracuse, however, Megill has been great. He owns a 2.38 ERA in five starts, including his start this week, where he didn’t allow a run. At this point, Megill is just Major League depth, and until he gets called up again, he should continue performing well up in Syracuse.
