According to an article Friday from Mike Puma of the New York Post, the Mets experienced clubhouse issues this past season. Per the article, Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil did not have the best of relationships, which is no surprise given their history of reported clashes. Puma wrote that, after a loss against the Phillies this past summer, Lindor “began verbally attacking McNeil” due to a defensive lapse during the game.

Puma also detailed differences in leadership between Lindor and Juan Soto: “Soto is very businesslike — all business, no fluff. … He’s not into fashion or any of that other stuff. Lindor is into that. It’s just two different personalities.” The Mets have already begun a culture shift, bringing in Marcus Semien from the Rangers, and there will be more moves to come.
