Good morning, Mets fans!

The Mets were swept out of Atlanta, dropping the series finale to the Braves by a score of 5-3. New York jumped out to a 3-1 lead, but a three-run rally in the bottom of the third inning by the Braves turned the tide and the Mets’ offense couldn’t get anything else going. The Braves can now clinch the NL East with their next win or the Mets’ next loss.

The Mets now get set to begin their final regular-season series of the year against the Nationals at Citi Field. Carlos Carrasco (15-7, 3.95 ERA) will look to rebound from a couple of rough outings against Cory Abbott (0-4, 5.11 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 this evening.

2019: The Mets fire Mickey Callaway after two disappointing seasons. While the Mets finished the year strong, that strong second half couldn’t undo the fact that the team had fallen well short of expectations during Callaway’s tenure.
