Probably because the Mets were dominated and embarrassed badly in the final game. It was like the Braves making one last goodbye statement in a year that they finished 10 and 3 against the Mets.

Nimmo’s season is right in line with his career norms. Lindor is having his best season in a Met uniform. Crazy that I find myself defending Alonso for once but his overall production is right in line with his career mark. And McNeil’s oppo% has actually gone down in the month of August.

The Mets as a team had a good batting average last year because they got good results on soft contact. This year that luck has turned the other way. Oh, and they still sorely lack power, especially with how they are also getting worse results from hard contact than last year.

ALonso…avg. way down.power up, he’s all power now, wasnt ever that way before
McNeil….finally willing to go the other way now, not so the rest of the year

And Pham was the only good hitter traded and DJ pretty much replaced all his production
