AAA: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (47-41) 4, Syracuse Mets (39-49) 6 Box Score

The Mets’ offense failed to generate much as both Mark Vientos and Francisco Alvarez were out of the lineup in preparation for the Future’s Game.

Nick Plummer had the lone multi-hit game for Syracuse. Plummer is now 5-for-12 in his last three contests.

Nate Fisher was tagged with the loss after he surrendered three runs on six hits in 4.1 innings. Friday’s outing snapped a stretch of four consecutive starts in which Fisher allowed a run or fewer.

The Syracuse bullpen was solid despite the losing effort, combining to allow just one run in 4.2 innings.

Carlos Cortes made things interesting with a three-run home run in the ninth before the Rumble Ponies would eventually fall to the SeaWolves.

Ronny Mauricio also hit his 16th home run as he looks to break out of a recent cold spell. Meanwhile, Brett Baty stayed hot with a pair of hits. The third baseman is now 7-for-16 with a home run in the series against Erie.

It was a rough night for Justin Lasko as he allowed six runs on 10 hits in just 1.2 innings. The Binghamton bullpen managed to settle things down, allowing three runs (just one earned) over 6.1 innings, highlighted by three scoreless innings from Yeizo Campos. Campos now has back-to-back scoreless appearances after allowing seven runs over his previous two outings.

A+: Greensboro Grasshoppers (36-47) 2, Brooklyn Cyclones (39-46) 1 Box Score

The Cyclones only mustered a run on four hits as they fell 2-1 to the Greensboro Grasshoppers.

Jaylen Palmer drove in Brooklyn’s lone run with an RBI double in the fifth inning.

Jose Peroza also kept up his hot streak with a pair of hits. The 22-year-old infielder is slashing .313/.389/.688 with three home runs in July.

Carson Seymour turned in a dominant performance holding the Grasshoppers to just two hits and a walk in 6.2 shutout innings while striking out 11. Seymour, a sixth-round pick in 2021, now has a 2.71 ERA in 69.2 innings between St. Lucie and Brooklyn this year.

Andrew Edwards took the loss after allowing a two-run home run in the eighth inning.

A: Dunedin Blue Jays (37-47) 4, St. Lucie Mets (51-33) 0 Box Score

The Mets scattered seven hits but failed to score a run as they were shutout 4-0 by the Dunedin Blue Jays.

Junior Tilien extended his hit streak to four games with a two-hit night. The 19-year-old infielder is 8-for-11 with a double in that stretch.

Robert Colina took the loss Friday, allowing four runs, three coming in the first inning, on six hits in four innings. The St. Lucie bullpen was excellent as Saul Gonzalez and Trey McLoughlin combined for five scoreless innings.

Dyron Campos picked up another three hits as boosted his OPS to .964 in DSL play.
