AAA: Syracuse Mets (46-57) 6, Lehigh Valley IronPigs (57-46) 3 Box Score

Syracuse scored six runs on nine hits as they downed the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 6-3.

Daniel Palka opened the scoring in the first inning with a solo home run. Francisco Álvarez would extend the Mets’ lead to 4-0 in the third with a two-run home run. Alvarez now has five home runs since his promotion to Triple-A with three in his last five contests.

Connor Grey was solid, holding the IronPigs to a run on two hits over six innings, as he earned his fifth win of the year. Rob Zastryzny recorded the final out in the ninth to earn his first save of the year after Michel Otanez walked three to load the bases.

The Rumble Ponies scored seven runs in the sixth inning en route to a fourth consecutive win over the Somerset Patriots.

Ronny Mauricio got Binghamton on the board with a three-run home run in the fourth inning, his 20th of the year. Mauricio is now 7-for-20 with two home runs since the start of August.

Meanwhile, Brett Baty picked up another two hits and two RBIs. After posting a .365/.435/.688 line in July, Baty is now 7-for-16 with two home runs to start August.

Jose Butto struggled a bit Friday allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over four innings. Antonio Santos would ultimately earn the win after surrendering a run while striking out six over two innings.

A+: Winston-Salem Dash (48-51) 0, Brooklyn Cyclones (49-50) 2 Box Score

The Cyclones only managed to score two runs on four hits but it was enough as they shut out the Winston-Salem Dash 2-0.

Stanley Consuegra tripled in the second inning and came home on a Jose Peroza double. Peroza now has six hits, including three doubles, in his last 10 at-bats.

Keyshawn Askew was sharp in his first start with Brooklyn as he held Winston-Salem to just three hits while striking out six over 4.1 scoreless innings. The 22-year-old lefthander was 4-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 64 strikeouts through 46.2 innings with St. Lucie.

David Griffin earned his second win with Brooklyn after pitching 3.2 shutout innings in relief. Dylan Hall earned his third save with a clean ninth inning. Hall has allowed just one run in his first 13 innings with the Cyclones.

A: Daytona Tortugas (39-58) 7, St. Lucie Mets (58-41) 8 Box Score

St. Lucie overcame an early 6-0 deficit to beat the Daytona Tortugas 8-7 in 10 innings.

William Lugo got the Mets on the board with a two-run home run in the third inning, his tenth of the year.

Raul Beracierta would tie the game 7-7 in the eighth inning with another two-run shot. Beracierta is 6-for-16 to start August after he slashed .329/.364/.575 with five home runs in July.

Beracierta would also score the winning run in the tenth on an errant back-pick attempt.

Jordan Geber struggled in his first start with St. Lucie allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits and three walks in three innings.

Miguel Alfonseca would calm things down out of the bullpen holding Daytona to just a run over four innings and enabling St. Lucie’s eventual comeback. Trey McLoughlin was also excellent for three innings, allowing just one hit while striking out five, en route to his fourth win of the year.

Florida Complex League: FCL Mets (25-17) 7, FCL Astros Orange (18-22) 9 Box Score

Dyron Campos hit a pair of home runs and drove in five in his FCL debut. Campos, a 2019 signee from Venezuela, hit .304/.353/.529 with five home runs in 138 at-bats in the Dominican Summer League.
