The Mets came up short Thursday night in the game against the Bison.  Payton, the 29-year old outfielder hit two home runs to go along with three RBI’s.  Lee continues to crush the baseball as he hit his fourteenth home run of the season, another absolute bomb to right field off of a lefty.  Brandon Drury had himself a pair of hits and hit his fourteenth double of the year.

Mets outfield prospect Khalil Lee hit his 14th home run of the season (6th in September) last night for Triple-A Syracuse.

Lee’s 161 wRC+ ranks 8th among 839 minor leaguers with at least 300 plate appearances this season.

The Mets had their organizational pitcher of the year on the hill Thursday against Buffalo.  Oller threw five and two thirds innings allowing four runs sitting 91-93 and topped out at 94.  Stephen Nogosek threw two perfect innings striking out five of the six batters he faced.

Syracuse won Thursday as Vientos made his Triple-A debut. Vientos looked the part as he collected two hits with an RBI as well. Vientos was the DH and did not play the field. Lee picked up a base knock as he has an absurd .444 on-base percentage in Syracuse this season.

Mark Payton picked up a pair of hits as well as he collected his 17th double of the season. Syracuse scored one run in the bottom half of the ninth to win it as Payton’s single to centerfield won it for the Mets in walk-off fashion.

Yamamoto continues his road back to the major leagues as he threw four solid innings of work as the starter versus the Red Sox. Yamamoto threw 58 pitches across four innings with 43 of them being strikes.

Binghamton picked up the win Thursday as Rincon played great. Rincon, who was the prospect the Mets got back for trading Billy McKinney, has been very good for the Rumble Ponies as he continues to hit. Mauricio found his way on base and picked up his 10th and 11th stolen bases of the year with two Thursday night. Binghamton took the lead in the fourth and never looked back picking up their 47th win of the year.

The Rumble Ponies pitching was great Thursday as Bostick and Alex Sanabia combined four nine innings and two runs with seven strikeouts. Bostick came in relief after Sanabia threw five innings and had a very encouraging outing. No walks across four innings and four strikeouts to go along with it.

Palmer was later switched to third base later on in the game from left field. Wilmer Reyes recorded two hits and two RBI’s as he has 16 hits in 46 at-bats.

Rojas did a good job limiting runs Thursday as he had a solid five innings allowing only one earned run. Rojas allowed seven hits and had two walks, but got out of trouble and only surrendered two runs, one earned, in the game. Dylan Hall threw a scoreless inning as he was recently sent down by Binghamton.

Rodriguez pitched well for the Mets Thursday as he threw four strong innings allowing zero walks. Rodriguez had his command intact walking zero and had the longest outing out of the St. Lucie pitching staff Thursday night.

The Mets lost to the Bison today in a game that ended early due to the rain. The Mets completed five and a half innings and scored three in the top of the sixth to cut it to a two run game. Martinez is still looking to make his long awaited debut for the Mets as he continues his rehab and added two hits along with one extra base hit. Blankenhorn showed his pop Thursday as he hit his seventh home run of the minor league season. Cheslor Cuthbert hit his 13th home run of the season Thursday to cut into the Bison lead.

Walker threw Thursday for the Syracuse Mets as he struck out two across four and two thirds innings of work. Walker received his third loss of the year for Syracuse as he is still looking for his first Triple-A win. Due to the game getting cut short Syracuse was in the midst of a comeback and Walker unfortunately still took the loss due to the wet grounds not allowing them to continue.

The Cyclones won the game against the Renegades Thursday by a score of 6-4. Alvarez continues to find his way on base as he was on three times and Peroza was on twice as well. Cody Bohanek homered and doubled twice as he had himself a great day driving in a run and walking twice as well. Bohanek found himself on base all five times Thursday as he did a great job in the leadoff role. Ronny Mauricio did not play as he was just promoted to Double-A and joins Brett Baty there as well.

Vilera pitched well for the Cyclones as he picks up his third win of the season. Vilera did not allow a walk in his start against the Renegades and did well pitching to contact.  Brooklyn did well having zero errors across nine and helped secure Vilera’s third win on the year.  Hunter Parsons pitched very well as he threw two and a third innings allowing one hit and one run while striking out five of the seven batters he faced.

Syracuse lost Thursday night to the IronPigs as Peraza continues his rehab stint.  Lee, who was called up as the rosters expanded on September 1st, was sent back down less than 24 hours later and went hitless batting second. Peraza picked up an extra base hit as he collected a double and RBI in the 3-2 loss. Jose Martinez continues his rehab stint as he went hitless and got subbed out after two at bats.

Godley had another quality start Thursday night as he unfortunately picked up his sixth loss of the year. Godley limited the damage well as he allowed seven hits and four walks and only allowed three runs. The bullpen pitched well as they threw two perfect innings allowing no runs, walks, or hits.

Right-hander Jake Reed tossed a scoreless inning with a strikeout in his first rehab appearance.

Ginn pitched well Thursday night as he allowed one run over 5.2 innings. Ginn did a good job with command as he allowed one walk over and limited damage while allowing seven hits. It was the second straight start for Ginn in which he allowed only one earned run.

Josh Hejka continues to pitch well (3.28 ERA) as he threw another scoreless outing over 1 1/3 innings of work.

The Mets lost a close one as the Red Wings scored the game winning run in the top of the ninth. Guilorme was back in action Thursday in his first rehab game where he played shortstop and batted lead off.  Guillorme collected a hit and was later taken out of the game. Jose Martinez, who is also on a rehab stint of his own, came out of the game after a swing. From the looks of it he buckled his left shoulder and may need his rehab extended.

Walker pitched very well as he threw to contact allowing only one walk and two runs over six. Walker made arguably one mistake and was taken over the fence for a two-run home run with two outs in the fifth inning. The bullpen was good as they combined for three innings and only one run in the top of the ninth.

Nobody on the planet is seeing the ball better than Mangum at the plate right now. Mangum has a slash line of .439/.478/.683 in the Month of August. Carlos Rincon hit a home run as he continues to impress ever since coming over from the Dodgers in the Billy McKinney trade. Rincon has a .872 OPS in 29 games for Binghamton and has 20 home runs overall in 2021.

Binghamton’s relievers pitched excellent Thursday night as they allowed two runs over 5.2 innings.  Cavallaro pitched well in his appearance as he threw two scoreless innings keeping his ERA in Binghamton at zero.

Syndergaard returned back to the mound for Brooklyn in his first rehab appearance since receiving the news of his setback. Noah allowed a home run to the first batter he faced and hit another batter, but settled down nicely and picked up a strikeout. Syndergaard sat around 95 mph on his fastball and was instructed by his doctor to only throw fastballs and changeups for the rest of 2021.

Saunders picked up two hits as well as he continues to hit the ball well this season.

Nogosek continues to make his major league rehab assignment with St. Lucie as he threw one inning allowing a pair of hits and a run. St. Lucie threw a total of four pitchers and Moreno picked up the win throwing 3.2 innings of two hit ball. Drake Nightengale came in the ninth to close it out after the run allowed by Moreno and St. Lucie picked up the win.

Baty stays hot as he and Mangum combined for eight hits Thursday night in Binghamton’s big win. The bats were alive as the Rumble Ponies combined for 15 hits and 10 runs. Baty homered twice to right center and finished a triple short of the cycle. The Mets number two overall prospect has started to really heat up in Binghamton and this is his third three hit game of the season. Baty now has five homers in 93 plate appearances in Binghamton.

Lasko continues to throw well as he gets his first start since his promotion to Binghamton. Lasko has a 2.39 ERA in 94 innings this season as he continues to be a bright spot for the Mets minor league pitching staff. Lasko had great command of his pitches tonight as he threw well to contact and impressed in his first start at Binghamton.

Alvarez stays hot as he homers in back to back games for the Cyclones.  Palmer hit the ball well as he provided two extra base hits with a pair of RBI’s as well.  Alvarez now has a .876 OPS for Brooklyn and 16 home runs on the season.  Alvarez has 16 home runs in 241 at bats as the Mets number one prospect continues to impress.  Alvarez home run went to right field as the 19 year old is really showing his raw strength and pop to all parts of the field.

Ginn had some command issues Thursday night as he issued four walks in five innings of work.  He has done a good job at keeping the ball in the park allowing zero home runs on Thursday.  Ginn, the Mets top active pitching arm, looks to keep developing his pitches and get his velocity back up coming off Tommy John surgery.

The Mets took the first game of their double-header Thursday afternoon as Thompson continues to hit the ball well in his rehab assignment for Syracuse.  St. Lucie was very active on the base path this game as they had four stolen bases by four different players.  Ramirez had a big two out RBI single to put the Mets up 3-1 in the fifth.  Jose Martinez had a hit in two at bats until he was subbed out as he continues his rehab assignment looking to get back to the New York Mets soon.

Santos was phenomenal Thursday as he threw a complete game and got the win.  Santos had great control only walking one batter across seven innings and striking out six.  Santos limited damage well allowing six hits and only one run.  Santos picked up his fourth win of the season and saved the bullpen some innings while doing so.

The Mets swept the double-header today as they win this rain shortened game in five innings.  The Mets got off to a 2-0 lead and did not look back.  Schwartz, the Mets fourth round pick in the 2021 MLB draft, had his first start Thursday night and picked up his first professional hit.  Ramirez stayed hot as he picked up three hits in two games today.  Jordan, the Mets 11th round pick in the 2021 MLB draft, picked up three hits in three at bats as he continues his hot start to his professional career.

• RHP Luis Moreno (W, 3-3) 5 IP, H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K, 5.40 ERA

Moreno stepped up huge today as he threw a masterpiece.  Moreno would go the distance in a shortened five inning game and faced the minimum over five.  Moreno allowed a hit in the second inning and proceeded to retire every batter after that.  St. Lucie played twelve total innings today and had two starters go all twelve in a very successful double-header sweep.

Colon has pitched well in six games for the FCL Mets after struggling to a 7.30 ERA for the St. Lucie Mets to begin the season.

Lee picked up three hits and collected a pair of doubles as well as he continues to hit the ball well in Syracuse.

Williams, who was recently involved in the blockbuster trade sending Pete Crow-Armstrong to the Cubs for Javier Baez and Trevor Williams, threw six strong frames in his second start with the Syracuse Mets tonight. Williams has allowed just three runs in 12 innings in his first two starts in the Mets system. Williams is proving he can be an important piece moving forward for the Mets.

Mangum now has a nine-game hitting streak and is hitting .500 in August.  Baty picked up where he left off with two more hits. Baty has really started to show his hit tools on display after crushing a home run Wednesday night and picking up a pair of hits with two RBIs Thursday. The Mets 24th round pick in 2018 Hayden Senger hit his third home run of the season coming with two outs in the second inning.

Mark Vientos was out again after being pulled after his first at-bat Wednesday night.

Oller was amazing Thursday night striking out 12 batter in seven innings of work. Oller had great command as he did not allow a walk across seven frames of work. The Cyclones lost a close one as they led 2-0 heading into the top of the sixth.  Joe Suozzi had a two-out two-run RBI triple to give them the lead in the bottom half of the fifth. Binghamton let up four runs in the top half of the sixth and scored one of their own in the bottom of the sixth to make it a one-run game.  Newly called up prospect Peroza picked up the first two hits of his High-A career including the first extra base hit of his High-A career Thursday night. Alvarez and Mauricio both had a walk and a strikeout.

Lasko was on the hill as he was throwing great early on as he held the Renegades scoreless through five innings. Lasko got into a little trouble in the sixth and was taken out and relieved by Josh Hejka. Hejka and Lasko combined to give up four runs in the inning and took Lasko’s chance to pick up a win away.

Syracuse lost a close one to the RailRiders Thursday as they collected 10 hits and only one run.  Almora had a hot bat tonight as he picked up three hits including a clutch two out RBI single.  Syracuse held a 1-0 lead entering the top of the ninth and let up three runs leading to the loss.

Walker threw the best game of his young career as he had a no-hitter going into the eighth. Walker had command of all of his pitches and had two walks and six strikeouts in eight brilliant innings of work. Walker was recently ranked as the Mets No. 20 prospect by Baseball America.

The Rumble Ponies showed a lot of fight Thursday night as they were down 5-2 heading into the sixth and fought back to tie the game in the ninth eventually losing on a walk off in the bottom half.  Vientos continues to be on a power surge as he crushed two homers to right-center and recorded his 19th and 20th homers.

Vientos has dominated the minor leagues this year and is the eighth prospect in minor league baseball to reach the 20-homer mark in 2021.

The first game of the doubleheader on Thursday went to the Tortugas as they scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning to break the tie and win the game.  Palmer has been putting his skillset on display this season as he picks up his second home run of the year. Palmer is making his case to move into the top 10 prospect list for the Mets.

Santos threw well in game one as he allowed six hits and only one run.  He limited the damage to only one run which is very impressive from a 19 year old.

The Mets won the second game of the doubleheader as they reached the 40-win mark. Ramirez got the first game off and Jose Peroza got the second game off.  Ramirez returned to the lineup reaching base twice and picking up a clutch two-out RBI base hit.

The two pitchers, Rojas and Santos, combined to throw seven innings of three-hit baseball allowing only one run. Rojas threw a great game as he picked up seven strikeouts in only five innings of work.  Rojas has been phenomenal all season as he continues to dominate Low-A. Santos threw well having great control with his pitches limiting his walks and picking up a pair of strikeouts in two innings of work while picking up the save.

Syracuse lost tonight as they were ahead 4-3 going into the bottom of the eighth. Syracuse hit the ball well with RISP going 3-for-5 and Drury was a big part of that with his two out two RBI single.  Patrick Mazeika had a scheduled night off tonight as Cervenka got the start and provided an RBI of his own.  The pitching was not bad tonight as they had only allowed three runs until the eighth and looked like Syracuse may squeak out a win.  The Syracuse pitching gave up a lot of hits tonight, but did a good job at limiting the damage all night.

Tom Windle and Bradley Roney combined to allow seven runs in the eighth inning.

The Rumble Ponies won today as Cortes continued hitting the ball well as he blasted a home run off the scoreboard in right. Cortes now has homered in two of his last three games to make it 12 homers on the season. First baseman David Rodriguez hit a grand slam to break the game open giving the Rumble Ponies a 5-2 lead in the fourth.

The pitching for Binghamton was good as their starter Beggs went 5 1/3 innings and picked up the win. Grey threw three innings and was great as six out of the nine outs he got were strikeouts. Eric Orze picked up his first Double-A save by getting the final two outs.

Duplantis crushed the ball on Thursday night and picked up four hits of his own including a home run down the right field line. Mauricio continues his tear as he picks up his eighth multi-hit game in his last ten games. He continues to add onto his career-high home run total crushing his 11th of the season, this one from the left side to right center. The ball went 408 feet and he also doubled earlier in the game from the right side of the plate.

Alvarez picked up a hit tonight and even added his fourth stolen base of the season which led to a run.

The pitching staff tonight was great as Lasko went seven innings allowing only two hits and no runs. Lasko has been a pleasant surprise for the Mets as he now lowers his ERA to a 2.89.  He picked up eight strikeouts tonight with two walks as well picking up his third win on the season.

St. Lucie won in a crazy game that lasted 10 innings. The Mets were trailing by four going to the ninth, but they came back to tie it to force extras. Ramirez had the game-winning hit in the 10th with a single up the middle. It was was his second hit of the night and third RBI.

Palmer’s good game brought his July OPS to an impressive .963 in 17 games. He has seven stolen bases in that span as well.

The Mets bullpen really stepped up as they allowed only one run after the fifth inning and got out of a bases loaded one out jam in the top of the 10th, which led to St. Lucie walking it off in the bottom half.

Tavarez had his fastball consistently sitting at 97 mph on the night. Reyson Santos tossed a scoreless 10th inning with two strikeouts to pick up his third win of the season.

The Syracuse Mets won in a football score today by the score of 14-12. Almora crushed his first home run of the season for Syracuse to left center to get things started and was followed up by plenty of other blasts. Lee continues to show off his raw power as he crushed a moonshot to center field for his fourth home run of the season in the second.

Drew Jackson showed his opposite field pop as he crushed a grand slam to right field in a nine-run third inning from Syracuse.  The Mets had 12 runs through three innings and even batted around without recording a single out.  Mazieka added what would be the finishing touch as he drilled a two run home run to right center which made it 14-8 in the eighth.  Brandon Drury had a good game as he collected three hits of his own and Travis Blankenhorn collected a pair of doubles for himself as well.  The starter Alex Sanabia threw an inning and two thirds and pitched well giving up only two hits and collected a strikeout as well.  JD Davis did not play today as he was called back up to rejoin the Mets for their series in Pittsburgh starting tomorrow.

Sanabia, the starting pitcher, was lifted early for an unknown reason. The Mets bullpen gave up five runs in the third (Trey Cobb 1 IP, 5 ER) four more in the ninth (Stephen Nogosek 1 IP, 4 ER) to make things interesting. Recently acquired lefty Anthony Banda allowed two runs in four innings and struck out four. Banda even walked in his only plate appearance as a hitter.

Binghamton picked up the win tonight as they won a close one 4-3.  Mark Vientos did not play after leaving the game yesterday after getting hit by a pitch on his hand.  Baty got another start in left which was interesting due to the fact that Vientos did not even play.

The Rumble Ponies rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to take the lead, it was capped by a Mangum sac fly. Second baseman Nick Conti had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs in the game.

The long anticipated return of Carlos Carrasco happened tonight in his first rehab start with the Cyclones. Carrasco touched 94 mph in two innings of work today allowing one batter over the minimum.  Overall, Carrasco looked good as he ended the night with an absolutely filthy breaking ball picking up his second strikeout in his two innings of work.

The Mets plan to ease Carrasco back into things as he threw 27 pitches and 17 of those were strikes.  is velocity was right where it was in 2020 and after the game he raved about how excited he is to pitch at Citi Field in front of the fans. His hamstring feels great according to him and he passed his first step in coming back healthy to a Mets team in need for another arm.

The Mets lost to the Palm Beach Cardinals on Thursday in walk-off fashion. Mets leadoff hitter Jaylen Palmer did not play and Saunders stepped up for the offense providing three hits of his own. St. Lucie had eight hits tonight, all being singles and went 2-11 with RISP. De Los Santos made a nice play in center field today as he gunned out a runner trying to score picking up the outfield assist.
