The New York Yankees have signed right-handed reliever Adam Ottavino to a three-year deal according to Jeff Passan of ESPN. The deal is worth $27 million over the three years, per Jon Heyman of FanCred.
Ottavino, 33, is coming off a career-year in 2018 when he had a 2.43 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 2.74 FIP, and 2.6 bWAR for the Colorado Rockies. He allowed just 41 hits in 77.2 innings and struck out 112, though he did walk 36. He was a much different pitcher in 2017, when he had a 5.06 ERA and 1.63 WHIP in 53.1 innings.
Before the Mets brought back Jeurys Familia to be the setup man, they showed interest in signing Ottavino.
