Brentz’s accounted for all of the team runs for the Naranjeros last night as he led them to a 3-2 victory in extra innings. With the team down 1-0 with two outs in the top of the fourth inning, Brentz stepped in with the bases loaded and pulled a base hit into left field to score two runs and give the team the lead.

In the top of the tenth inning, Venados pitcher Manny Corpas would intentionally walk the left handed Roberto Ramos to load the bases and get the platoon advantage against the right handed hitting Brentz. He would respond by punching one through the right side of the infield for a walk-off RBI single to win it for the Naranjeros.

Becerra should have had an RBI to go with his stat line today but in the sixth inning, on Becerra’s base hit to left field, Endy Chavez was throw out at home by the left fielder Teodoro Martinez.

Dominican Winter League (LIDOM)

Aguilas Cibaenas 13 – 2 Estrellas de Oriente

With this game well in favor of the Aguilas, Mora came into the game in the top of the seventh inning as a replacement for starting left fielder Eugenio Velez. He would get an AB in the bottom half of the inning, but struck out swinging on a fastball in the dirt.

Toros del Este 4 – 2 Gigantes del Cibao

Terdoslavich continued his hot start in the LIDOM with two more base hits to extend his hitting streak to seven straight games. In the sixth inning, he inside outed a pitch the other way for a single and in the eighth inning he smoked a ball to the right center field wall for a double.

Tim Peterson came on in the ninth inning for the save situation and struck out all three batters he faced on swinging strike threes. Ten of the eleven pitches he threw were for strikes, of which four of them were of the “swing and miss” variety.

Roberto Clemente Puerto Rico League (LBPRC)
