Morning Briefing: Wheeler Looks To Continue Dominance In San Francisco

Good morning Mets fans! The New York Mets (59-74) had an off day on Thursday for the ninth time this season after avoiding a sweep in their three-game series with the Chicago Cubs (79-54) a day prior.

Zack Wheeler (9-6, 3.46 ERA) will get another chance to take on the team that traded him as a minor leaguer for Carlos Beltran in 2011. He will do so as one of the hottest pitchers in baseball right now (6-0, 1.17 ERA in last seven starts) and will be facing Andrew Suarez (5-9, 4.42 ERA) of the Giants. The game will be broadcast on SNY and 710 WOR, with first pitch scheduled for 10:15 p.m. EDT.
