Mets vs Cubs Suspended 1-1 in 10th Inning, Will Resume at 1 PM Wednesday

The Mets (58-73) and the Cubs (77-53) squared off Tuesday night at Wrigley and were engaged in a 1-1 tie in the 10th inning before rain suspended the game. It was a pitching duel with Jacob deGrom and Cole Hamels on the mound dealing.

Jacob deGrom  pitched brilliantly on the mound tonight vs. the Cubbies.

The right-hander pitched eight innings, struck out 10 batters, and gave up only one earned run. He also lowered his ERA to 1.68.

Seth Lugo pitched a scoreless inning in the bottom of the ninth inning.

In the top of the sixth inning, deGrom helped himself in the run support department by driving in the first run of the game with an opposite field single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.

The Mets were 1-for-13 with runners in scoring position and left 11 runners on base.

Amed Rosario continues to stay hot in the lead off spot as he went 3-for-5.

On Deck:

The Mets will resume in the top of the 10th at 1 p.m. EST on Wednesday. Then the finale of this series will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game.

Jason Vargas  will toe the rubber as he looks to continue his impressive run from his last few starts.
