Mets Minors Recap: Vientos Stays Hot For Kingsport

Tomas Nido knocked in the only Rumble Ponies run with a sac fly and he also walked in the game. He’s sporting a .862 OPS since the All-Star break.

Zamora has now struck out 67 batters this year in 50 innings and has held opponents to a .202 average.

Jupiter (59-53) 4, St. Lucie Mets (45-66) 0 Box Score

Michael Paez had his hitting streak snapped at 18 games with an 0-for-4 night. The Mets had only six hits on the night and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Kay bounced back from a wild stretch that saw him walk 10 batters over his last two starts with only one on Wednesday night.

Moreno has played all over this season with time at shortstop, second base, third base, center field and left field. The Fireflies had only six hits on the night and didn’t draw a single walk.

The Brooklyn Cyclones bashed 17 hits in the game including nine with runners in scoring position. Shortstop Manny Rodriguez had two hits including his second pro homer.

Smith, 2018 7th round pick, has struck out 23 compared to only five walks in his first 18.2 innings of pro ball.

Elizabethton (26-18) 4, Kingsport Mets (25-22) 3 Box Score

Left fielder Guillermo Granadillo had two hits and his 17th stolen base, he’s hitting .385 with 12 runs scored in his last 10 games. Yoel Romero was on base three times and stole three bases.

The Mets lost on a walk-off single allowed by Brian Metoyer.

Both Zanon and Lindsay are rehabbing injuries with the Mets.
