Chris Flexen Has Knee Surgery to Repair Torn Meniscus

According to Betsy Helfand of the Las Vegas Review Journal, Las Vegas 51s manager Tony DeFrancesco has announced that RHP Chris Flexen has undergone knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus.

The 24-year old was placed on the seven day disabled list on August 3 with an undisclosed injury. This now marks the second time in the past 18 months that Flexen will be undergoing knee surgery.

In four appearances with the Mets this season Flexen has struggled, posting a 12.79 ERA over 6.1 innings. For Vegas, he made 17 starts and one relief appearance, to put together a record of 6-7 with a 4.40 ERA, 1.552 WHIP, and a 7.6 K/9.
