Red Sox Acquire Ian Kinsler

The best team in baseball, the Boston Red Sox, acquired Ian Kinsler to bolster their infield. Currently Boston has been using Brock Holt there with Dustin Pedroia and Rafael Devers out for an extended period of time.

The veteran second baseman has is hitting .239/.304/.406 this season with a 95 OPS+ and 2.5 bWAR . Most of his value comes from his defense at second, where he has posted 10 defensive runs saved. Kinsler should only help Boston as he represents an upgrade over Eduardo Nunez and Brock Holt.

The Angels received LHP William Jerez and RHP Ty Buttery. Jerez (26) and Buttery (25) are both relievers in AAA. The Angels also sent $1.8 million over to Boston.
