Morning Briefing: Trades Galore

Get your popcorn ready, folks. It’s trading time! The trading deadline is today at 4 P.M, after which players are only eligible for trade if they clear waivers.

Today, the Mets will battle against the Washington Nationals. Steven Matz(5-8, 3.79 ERA,) will face off against Tanner Roark(4-12, 4.55 ERA). Roark’s 12 losses are the seventh most in the National League this year.

The Mets did not play yesterday.

Latest Mets news’s own Mathew Brownstein revealed that multimillionaire Martin Silver is interested in purchasing a portion of the Mets. He is one of the owners of a popular alcohol company and since he’s interested in buying the Mets, there’s defintely a joke to made here.’s own Jacob Resnick disclosed three more international free agents whom the Mets have come to terms with.

Resnick also reports that Matt den Dekker has passed through waivers and will report to the Las Vegas 51s. So far this year, he hasn’t recorded a hit in the major-leagues.

Resnick also reveals that Todd Frazier will play for the Brooklyn Cyclones in his next rehab game.

The Mets are expected to keep Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom, Wilmer Flores and Steven Matz, but Zack Wheeler, Devin Mesoraco, and Jose Bautista could all be on the move today.
