Morning Briefing: Syndergaard Returns To The Mound

Good morning Mets fans! The New York Mets (37-54) were defeated by the Washington Nationals (47-46) by a score of 5-4 on Thursday night at Citi Field. Although Steven Matz (4-7, 3.38 ERA) provided the Mets with a quality start and the team’s offense hit a combined three home runs, a critical two-run homer by Bryce Harper in the seventh inning put the game away.
