Morning Briefing: American League Takes Home Sixth Straight

Good morning Mets fans! Last night the American League All-Stars defeated the National League All-Stars 8-6 in the 89th Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Tuesday night at Nationals Park.

Houston Astros 3B Alex Bregman took home the All-Star game MVP, this marks the sixth straight win in a row for the American League.

Jacob deGrom struck out one and allowed a solo home run to Mike Trout in his lone inning of work last night.

Bryce Harper had some high praise of deGrom during an in-game interview on the FOX telecast last night, “He’s lights out. The guy is unbelievable. I have to face him in the NL East all year long.”

Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes continued his rehab yesterday, playing all nine innings in left field and going 1-for-4 for the Gulf Coast League Mets.
