Brandon Nimmo Playing on Friday

During the postgame press conference on Thursday after the New York Mets got swept by the Atlanta Braves, manager Mickey Callaway said that outfielder Brandon Nimmo would be in the lineup on Friday against the Colorado Rockies.

Nimmo walked in his only plate appearance on Thursday and is now hitting .294/.478/.529 with a double, two triples, home run and seven walks in 46 plate appearances this year.

Despite his strong offensive start to the season, Nimmo has only two starts since April 17 and has been relegated to pinch hitting duties.

The Mets need to do something to jump start an offense that has been shutout two games in a row and managed only 15 hits in a three-game series against the Braves.
