Morning Briefing: Comeback Kids Strike Again

Good morning Mets fans! Steven Matz will face off with Michael Wacha tonight as the Mets look to take game two of this three-game set with the St. Louis Cardinals at 8:15 p.m.

Last night, the Mets came from behind again to defeat the Cardinals 6-5 in ten innings thanks to a Jay Bruce go-ahead solo home run in the top of the tenth. Check out the highlights below:

A Memorial Mass for Mets Hall of Famer Rusty Staub will take place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral this afternoon at 2 p.m. Members of the NYPD, FDNY and PAPD Ceremonial units and respective pipe bands will be participating.

LHP Jason Vargas will make his Mets debut, as expected, on Saturday adjacent the Padres.

Yoenis Cespedes, Jay Bruce, Michael Conforto, and Todd Frazier were all out early taking extra batting practice yesterday pre-game at Busch Stadium.
