Bartolo Colon Loses Perfect Game In Eighth Inning

Squaring off on Sunday Night Baseball, Bartolo Colon and Justin Verlander were engaged in the best pitcher’s duel of the year so far.

Verlander allowed just one run on a solo shot from Robinson Chirinos in the third inning.

That would prove to be the only hit Verlander would allow through eight innings. He struck out 11 batters, but 44-year-old Colon was better.

Colon took a perfect game into the eighth inning before doling out a walk and then allowing a double to Josh Reddick.

He was removed from the game and replaced by Alex Claudio.

We here at MMO tip our caps to Colon, who at age 44 can still hold his own with the best of ’em.
