Lagares Held Out of Saturday’s Lineup, Hopes to Play Next Week

For the second straight game, Mets outfielder Juan Lagares is not in the Mets lineup.

Tim Britton of The Athletic reports that Lagares has been held out due to a tight leg, but is hopeful that he can play next week.

Brandon Nimmo will start in place of him in center field on Saturday in the Mets matchup against the St. Louis Cardinals at 1:10 p.m.

Lagares will have to wait until next week to show off his new swing that he has been working extensively on this offseason.
