Stomach Ailment Pushes DeGrom’s Next Start

The New York Mets announced Thursday afternoon that Jacob deGrom‘s start on Friday night against the Washington Nationals has been pushed back because he’s dealing with an upset stomach and nausea.

Robert Gsellman will now start on Friday, Matt Harvey moves up to Saturday and deGrom will make his start against the Nats on Sunday vs Cy Young hopeful Max Scherzer.

DeGrom will set a new career-high with his 31st start on Sunday, he’s already set career best with 195.1 innings, 15 wins and 228 strikeouts this year. He is 15-9 with a 3.55 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in what has been an up-and-down season for the Mets ace.
