Mets Minors Recap: Amed Rosario Plays Third Base For 51s

Cecchini played shortstop for the second time this season while Rosario played third base for only the second time in his pro career. Rosario extended his hitting streak to seven games.

Wilk only allowed one hit through five innings. The 51s blew a 5-0 lead by allowing three runs in the sixth and five in the eighth.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (6-6) 8, Erie Seawolves (7-6) 3  Box Score

The Rumble Ponies offense scored five runs in the 5th inning, highlighted by a three-run home run by Decker. Matt Oberste and Kevin Taylor also had multi-hit games. Champ Stuart stole two bases in the 3rd inning.

After two rough starts to begin the year, Oswalt cruised through seven innings, only throwing 89 pitches (62 strikes). Regnault has been excellent to start the season, striking out seven in 5.1 scoreless innings.

Daytona Tortugas (8-8) 5, St. Lucie Mets (7-9) 3   Box Score

The Mets rallied in the 8th inning after struggling offensively for most of the game, scoring two runs on on a Dale Burdick double. However, the rally fell short when J.C. Rodriguez struck out to end the inning.

Crismatt had his worst start of the season, giving up all five of Daytona’s runs, but was still able to strike out eight in only five innings. Johnny Magliozzi also pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Columbia Fireflies (11-6) 5, Lexington Legends (5-12) 0  Box Score

The Fireflies had 12 hits in the game. Tebow, Paez, Gene Cone, Jose Miguel Medina all had multi-hit games.

Gonzalez continues his dominant start to the season. He has not yet allowed a run in his 20.2 innings of work and now has an incredible 18 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio.
