Duda and Flores Unavailable, d’Arnaud Can Pinch Hit

The Mets will be playing shorthanded Thursday, as Lucas Duda and Wilmer Flores are unavailable with separate health issues.

Travis d’Arnaud, who exited Wednesday night with a wrist contusion will be available Thursday off the pine as backup to Rene Rivera, according to Mets manager Terry Collins.

It is not expected that d’Arnaud will miss an extended amount of time, but just in case, the Mets have called up Kevin Plawecki from Triple-A Las Vegas who has joined the team in Queens for Thursday’s game.

Collins also said that Flores is expected to miss one or two days with his infection as of now, but it could end up being more.

Mets outfielder Juan Lagares will take reps at shortstop, his original position in the early stages of the minor leagues and will act as an emergency infielder Thursday.
