Mets Minors Recap: Flexen Tosses One-Hitter

Las Vegas (28-25) 9, Reno (26-27) 8 F/10 Box Score

The 51s scored five in the ninth inning and Roger Bernadina hit a solo home run in the top of the tenth to salvage another game in which the bullpen struggled. Here you can watch the game-winning blast.

Rivera was back at third base last night after playing left field for the last week or so, he has a PCL leading 46 RBI on the season now.

  • Gabriel Ynoa RHP: 6 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 2.84 ERA
  • Chasen Bradford RHP: 1 IP, 2 H, ER, 2.49 ERA
  • Zack Thornton RHP: 1 IP, 3 H, ER, 5.88 ERA
  • Josh Smoker LHP: 2 IP, 3 H, ER, 3 K, Win (2-1, 6.45)

Worst outing of the year for Ynoa that put’s his ERA at a season high 2.84 and WHIP at 1.26. Smoker continues to do two things this year, give up a ton of hits and strike out a high rate of batters.

Erie (21-32) 6, Binghamton (21-31) 5 Box Score

The B-Mets lost in excruciating fashion when Alberto Baldonado allowed a walk-off bases clearing double with two outs and two strikes on the batter. He inherited the three baserunners from Akeel Morris.

It was the first home run for Mazzilli since his first game in 2015 on June 1st. Evans has four straight games with multiple hits but has yet to walk for the B-Mets.

Jannis seems to be finding a groove with his knuckleball having walked only three batters in his last 18.2 IP (three starts).

St. Lucie (26-26) 8, Fort Myers (26-27) 0 F/7

Chris Flexen pitched a complete game shutout allowing only two baserunners, a single in the third and a hit by pitch in the sixth.

Hopefully Mora is breaking out of a season long slump and an even rougher previous three-game stretch in which he went 1 for 10 with six strikeouts.

  • Chris Flexen RHP: 7 IP, H, HBP, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K, Win (4-5, 3.50)

Flexen was dominant as he commanded his fastball and hit 96 MPH on the gun twice. Over his last two starts he has allowed only two hits in 13.1 innings.

Fort Myers (27-27) 4, St. Lucie Mets (26-27) 3 F/7 Box Score

The Mets blew a 3-1 lead, losing on a walk-off single with one out in the seventh. They have now lost six of their last seven games.

Taylor has now hit three home runs in his last five games and has knocked in eight runs in that span.

Hagerstown (34-19) 6, Columbia (28-26) 3 Box Score

Fireflies wasted numerous scoring chances going just 3 for 15 with runners in scoring position.

Thompson played his first game in the field since returning from the disabled list.

Haggard pitched for the first time since April 10th, he was showing off a 95 MPH fastball with a good breaking ball.
