Montero Among First Round Of Spring Training Cuts

The New York Mets announced their first round of cuts this morning, trimming their Spring Training roster as Opening Day gets closer.

From the 40 man roster RHP Rafael Montero, RHP Akeel Morris and LHP Dario Alvarez were all optioned to minor league camp. All three will likely start the season at Triple-A Las Vegas.

RHP Chasen Bradford, C Raywilly Gomez and RHP Paul Sewald were reassigned to minor league camp. They’ll receive their minor league assignments at the conclusion of Spring Training.

With today’s cuts, the Mets now have 52 players in Major League camp
