After five straight wins, the New York Mets will now try to  extend that and sweep the three-game series against the Miami Marlins tonight at 7:10 PM.

Matt Harvey (9-7, 2.91) will get the start for the Mets and he opposes right-hander David Phelps (4-7, 3.93) for the Marlins.

The Mets continue to hold a one-game lead over the Washington Nationals atop the NL East and will enjoy a day off on Thursday before they begin a weekend series with the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Mets upgraded their bullpen late Tuesday, acquiring Eric O’Flaherty and cash from the Oakland Athletics for a player to be named later.

The team also designated Alex Torres for assignment to make room for O’Flaherty, who is a a lethal lefty specialist who has held left-handed batters to a .186 batting average.
