A lot of people on here and twitter and in general say I’m very negative about the New York Mets and they are correct. Overall, the last 4 seasons have been disappointments with 2 consecutive collapses, the injuries last season and now this dreadful season. 2010 has seen rookies being called up when not ready, more mishandling of injuries and just downright bad baseball. However, there have been 3 big positives this season such as: 1. R.A. […]
The Mets get swept by the Braves as they lose 6-3. Dickey got tagged for six runs and ten hits in six innings. The bullpen didn’t help much either as they gave up two runs. The offense didn’t do much either, other than David Wright’s 24th homerun of the season. Game Summary R.A. Dickey got blasted today in the final game of the Braves series. He got beat up for four runs on ten hits […]
R.A. Dickey was spectacular tonight and the Mets offense went ballistic in the beginning of the game to secure at least a series tie in beating the Pirates 9-1 on Tuesday. Game Notes R.A. Dickey was great today, going for the complete game win, his only run allowed on an RBI groundout in the ninth inning. R.A. allowed five hits and struck out four and walked three in his complete game victory, and even threw […]
In a year rife with moral victories and the subsequent heartbreak that comes along with it, R.A. Dickey has been one of the more pleasant surprises with the 2010 Mets. I’m sure most Mets fans weren’t expecting much from a 35 year-old quasi-journeyman knuckleballer (I certainly wasn’t), we can now break bread that R.A. Dickey is one of the rare bright spots in a more-often-than-not disappointing season. Perhaps we should change the show to “Everybody […]
Andy Martino of the Daily News is reporting that the Mets may be open to giving R.A. Dickey a contract extension. The knuckleballer has been one of the few bright spots this season. According to a source, the Mets are willing to engage in extension talks with Dickey this offseason, in lieu of salary arbitration or a one-year deal. Dickey is arbitration-eligible for one more season, meaning he will be under team control in 2011 […]
After a shaky end to a solid R.A. Dickey outing, the Mets showed some fight, coming from behind late to defeat the Marlins 6-5. Game Notes R.A. Dickey had a solid outing today, and everything was going smoothly until the seventh inning. In that inning, R.A. allowed the first two hitters he faced to reach, and after a ground-out fielders choice and a pop-out, he allowed a three-run home run to Gaby Sanchez. Dickey’s final […]
After another great outing by R.A. Dickey spoiled by a home run in the ninth, the Mets would take the win in the 14th inning by a score of 3-2 Game Notes R.A. Dickey – today he was hittable, but he scattered those hits well. R.A. went eight and one-third innings, allowing two runs on nine hits with one walk and six strikeouts. R.A. was never really in trouble, putting runners on but not giving […]
R.A. Dickey was masterful, allowing ONE HIT all game and giving the Mets their second straight shutout in a row. Game Notes As Joe D mentioned in his post, Dickey was OUTSTANDING. Dickey allowed one hit over nine innings, walking one and striking out seven. Dickey was never in trouble, and minus one walk got through most innings with limited pitches, including three innings of exactly nine pitches. Its ironic that the only hit Dickey […]
R.A Dickey bounced back from a bad start better than anyone could have imagined. Dickey went all the way on a complete game one-hit shutout. Its was the fifth time this season that the Mets have shut out the Phillies. The only season it happened more was in 1969 (7 times), when the Mets won the World Series. Dickey handed the Phillies without any trouble, with the lone hit coming from the opposing pitcher Cole Hamels. Carlos Beltran drove […]
