I asked some of our writers what they felt were the Best and Worst moments for the Mets in the first half, and it looks like the consensus for the best was when we swept the Yankees and the Empire State Building was brightly lit up in Blue and Orange. Daniel Nelson Best Moment: I’d have to say sweeping the Yankees in four games was pretty special. You hang onto moments like that when you […]
Finally, a Brooklyn Cyclones that did not include a rain delay or extra innings… The Cyclones continued their climb to the .500 mark on the season with a 7-5 victory Wednesday night at MCU Park in Coney Island over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers – the Single-A short season affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. Brooklyn moves to 13-16 on the season. It was Nintendo night at the ballpark, and there were times where it seemed like […]
ALL HAIL!!! After riding the pine for two games since the return of Ike Davis from Triple-A Las Vegas, Josh Satin was inserted into Sunday’s lineup at the last minute after Brewers decided to start Tom Gorzelanny instead of their originally announced starter. Satin didn’t miss a beat and continued where he left off going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. Bravo. Satin is now batting .382 with an […]
Mets Official Release: The Mets will recall first baseman Ike Davis from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League prior to tonight’s game. Davis will wear #29 and will be in Milwaukee tonight. A corresponding roster move will also be made tonight. Davis was optioned to Las Vegas on June 10. He hit .293 (22-75) with 21 runs scored, seven doubles, seven home runs, 13 RBI, 17 walks and 18 strikeouts in 21 games with the 51s. Davis has batted .161 […]
Ike Davis had a big night for Triple-A Las Vegas tonight as they beat the Fresno Grizzlies 2-0. Davis went 3-for-4 with a double and his seventh homerun since being demoted. He is now batting .293 in 74 at-bats with the 51s. Original Post 7/3 John Harper of the New York Daily News published an article this morning discussing Ike Davis and the Mets’ need to figure out if he’s part of the future plan. […]
It’s pretty easy rooting for Josh Satin. All the kid has really ever wanted to do is play baseball, and wherever he’s played, he’s excelled. Two things remain consistent about Satin’s baseball run over a lengthy span of years. The kid can hit and more often than not, he’s selected as an all-star. Satin was a three time all-star selection as a Wolverine for the Harvard Westlake School in California. He continued racking up huge […]
According to a post by Adam Rubin on ESPN New York, it now appears that Josh Satin’s hot bat will be keeping Ike Davis in Triple-A Las Vegas longer than what some may have initially thought. Satin, whose RBI single in the bottom of the ninth forced extra innings last night, went 3-for-6 with two doubles and a walk in the Mets comeback win. He has now reached base safely in 12 straight games and is batting […]
The Mets won the first round of their 4-game series with the Diamondbacks at Citi Field on Monday night, beating Arizona 5-4 in 13 innings. Shaun Marcum got off to a poor start, hitting a batter and giving up a 2-run shot to Paul Goldschmidt in the first. However, after giving up another run via an Aaron Hill RBI single in the 2nd, Marcum settled in and put up a few zeroes before departing after […]
Eric Young extended his hitting streak to seven games last night, one shy of his career-high. Young is hitting .419 (13-31) during that current stretch. Young’s career-best is an eight-game hitting streak, September 6-13, 2010. Since joining the Mets on June 19, Young is batting .359 (14-39) with five runs scored, four doubles and six RBI. He has taken to the Mets and to left field like white on rice and has quickly become an integral part […]
