Jerry Seinfeld, celebrity Mets fan extraordinaire, didn’t take to kindly to how Met fans behaved at the All-Star Game on Tuesday. “This is one of the lowest moments of my lifetime of Mets fandom, when the Citi Field crowd was booing teams that they see as rivals to their Mets team,” he told Steve Somers of WFAN. “I was in shock. I was embarrassed. I thought it was horrible manners. These are the best players, […]
I asked some of our writers what they felt were the Best and Worst moments for the Mets in the first half, and it looks like the consensus for the best was when we swept the Yankees and the Empire State Building was brightly lit up in Blue and Orange. Daniel Nelson Best Moment: I’d have to say sweeping the Yankees in four games was pretty special. You hang onto moments like that when you […]
When Josh Satin started at first base on Sunday against a right-handed pitcher, your spine was tingling, right? Some of you had goosebumps, right? When Josh Satin reached base twice in four at-bats, you snickered, right? If you read my pregame notes, you probably saw me wondering if Terry Collins was feeling under the weather… Benching Ike Davis against a right-hander? Obviously, something is amiss, right? After all, you’ve all become accustomed to seeing Satin […]

ALL HAIL!!! After riding the pine for two games since the return of Ike Davis from Triple-A Las Vegas, Josh Satin was inserted into Sunday’s lineup at the last minute after Brewers decided to start Tom Gorzelanny instead of their originally announced starter. Satin didn’t miss a beat and continued where he left off going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a single to extend his hitting streak to 11 games. Bravo. Satin is now batting .382 with an […]

After a three week exile to Triple-A Las Vegas, Mets first baseman Ike Davis returned with a vengeance last night, piecing together a 3-for-5 performance with a walk, two runs scored and two RBIs. Davis was penciled into the cleanup spot and for all intents and purposes did his job and did it well. It was just one small step, but it was certainly a step in the right direction. All three hits were singles, but two […]
KIRK, KIRK, KIRK, KIRK, KIRK, KIRK… What a comedy of errors we had in this one as the New York Mets walloped the Milwaukee Brewers by the score of 12-5 tonight at Miller Park. This was a fun game and I hope you all got a chance to watch it. I’m going to forego a retelling of all the many Brewer baserunning blunders and just get to the stuff we really care about – what did […]
