Alderson Says Duda and Tejada Are Not Core Players
One of the things Sandy Alderson said today during his interview with WFAN’s Mike Francesa, struck me as being kind of odd and out of place. Alderson said that he does not consider Ruben Tejada or Lucas Duda as part of the team’s core. You know what? Neither do I, but I doubt that Duda or Tejada care what I think. Alderson also said he “does consider” Ike Davis to be part of the core. He [...]

Put It In The Books: Wheeler To Debut June 18 In Atlanta
Updated by Joe D, You can put it in the books. Sandy Alderson strongly hinted today that Zack Wheeler will make his Mets and MLB debut on June 18 in Atlanta. “You could speculate and be fairly comfortable that you will see him pitch on that day.” The Mets have doubleheader that day and it could very well be a Harvey and Wheeler pairing for the Mets. Zoom, zoom.. Original Post Well, he definitely wasn’t [...]

MMO Player Of The Week: It’s Marlon Byrd!
Marlon Byrd, OF MMO Player of the Week! The Mets had a dismal week out there over the last seven days, having played only four games due to multiple rain outs. Unfortunately, all but one game ended with a check in the Loss Column. It might have been an even worse week for the Amazins’ if not for our player of the week, Marlon Byrd! Byrd left the yard twice over the course of the week [...]

The Worst Baseball On The Planet
Bill Madden of the Daily News with the sobering reality most Met fans probably don’t want to hear: There were 21,747 gluttons for punishment at Citi Field Sunday for the conclusion of another Mets-Marlins series, which now qualify for the worst baseball on the planet. Not satisfied with having tortured their fans for 20 innings of record-tying ineptitude the day before, the Mets lost in similar fashion — just not so long in doing it [...]

Terry Collins, Sandy Alderson And Getting Our Priorities In Order
Even though the beginning of the season started with low expectations, there is still a little bit of hope. Maybe we can be that team. Maybe we can do the unthinkable. Well, after last night’s debacle and the recent stretch in general, I would say that hope is on life support and if nothing improves before the end of June, the chord will be pulled. With that being said, the timing was right for the Mets to [...]
