Morning Grind: Johan Shutout, Boycott, K-Rod, No Country For Old Men
SHUTOUT The “Ace” Johan Santana pitched a shutout yesterday afternoon against the Rockies in a 4-0 win, giving up 4 hits in his complete game effort. Santana has, most emphatically in this game at least, shown why he is the real closer for this team. Whenever things get off track, the ace is supposed to bring things back into alignment with a quality start. It’s funny how Big Pelf is expected to be a stopper. [...]

My Beltran’s Back And You’re Gonna Be In Trouble!
I thought this day would never come, but here we are on the verge of the return of Carlos Beltran. When the Mets take the field tonight in San Francisco, Beltran will be in center field and according to Jerry Manuel, he’ll be batting cleanup behind David Wright and ahead of Ike Davis. Back on April 1st, how many of us could have predicted that the Mets would end the first half of the season in second [...]

It’s Official – Beltran’s Back!
It is now official, Carlos Beltran will return to the Mets lineup after the All Star break. In an article on ESPN New York, Beltran talks about his return to the game he loves, “I’m happy to be back and a part of the team,” Beltran said at Citi Field before Sunday’s Mets-Atlanta Braves game. “[And to] try to help accomplish our mission: trying to win the division and trying to be in the playoffs.” [...]

Wright and Reyes Are 2010 All Stars!
After trailing the Phillies’ Placido Polanco for most of the All Star balloting period, David Wright has been voted to the 2010 All Star Game as the National League starting third baseman. The NL’s RBI leader will be heading to his fifth straight All Star Game, his fourth as starter. Wright is currently batting .314 with 14 home runs and 64 RBI. “That’s what it’s all about. There’s no greater feeling of a kid wearing your jersey, seeing [...]

This was the first one I designed and the one that got me on a creative roll. How awesome have our two former first rounders been this season! This one is dedicated to all the David Wright lovers out there like our friends Bayonne and Golden Boy. [...]

Meeting Ike Was Another Amazin’ Thrill For Me!
~ A METS MERIZED FAN POST ~ When you work in a large city such as New York, you run the risk of letting it becoming mundane, and sometimes forget how great it is, and what can happen on any given day. I work in the heart of Times Square, and there are times when it makes me, well frankly, grouchy. When I’ve put in a full day, I expect to walk out of the [...]
