Francoeur To Get An MRI
Jeff Francoeur is getting an MRI on his left thumb this morning, after injuring it while making a diving catch the half-inning before he hit into the unassisted triple play Sunday. The thumb swelled Sunday night. Francoeur will be out of the lineup for Monday’s game and let’s hope that’s all he will miss. Francoeur is hitting .305 with 6 homeruns and 24 RBIs with the Mets, leading all active players. He will be [...]

Papelbon Speaks About Acquiring Wagner
As my fellow writer HoJo’s Mojo reported that Billy Wagner had been claimed off waivers by the Boston RedSox, we have heard from Boston’s closer Jonathon Papelbon. “What has he done? Has he pitched this year?” Jonathan Papelbon told WEEI.com. “Is he ready to pitch or is he not? … I think our bullpen is good where we’re at right now. Don’t get me wrong. But I guess you could always make it better. It’s [...]

Citi Field: Renovation Already?
Well now that it is in almost everyone’s minds that this season is over, I would like to present a question. Would a smaller Citi Field be a better Citi Field? Would it benefit or hurt the Mets to make the field smaller for next season by bringing in the outfield fence or even making it a level fence. I would like to say it would definitely be a benefit but honestly I am not [...]

Livan On a Jet Plane
Get it? Okay, anyway. According to Espn.com, the Mets have announced that Billy Wagner has been activated from the disabled list. To make room for Wagner, the Mets have released pitcher Livan Hernandez. Hernandez was 7-8 with a 5.47 ERA. Hernandez started the year off strong, but since July 3rd at Philadelphia, he really hasn’t shown the Mets much. You know, the one thing I could never stand about him was how he never seemed to care [...]

Around The NL East – Strasburg, Church, Hanley, Nolasco
Washington Nationals Great job by the Nats on doing what it takes to get Stephen Strasburg to sign his name on the dotted line. It’s good news all the way around. To honor the occasion, the Nats are offering 2,000 tickets for just one buck a piece to catch a glimpse of baseball’s newest phenom on Friday. Before their game against the Brewers, the Nats will have an on-filed press conference to introduce number one overall draft pick [...]

White Sox Get Alex Rios, Give Up Nothing In Return
Brace yourself my friends… According to the Tyler Kepner of the New York Times, the White Sox have acquired Alex Rios from the Blue Jays. It’s a straight waiver claim, so the Blue Jays will receive nothing in return. Says Jays GM J.P. Ricciardi: “This allows us to get out from under a contract and do more to address our club.” ESPN is now confirming. Blue Jays outfielder Alex Rios has been claimed off waivers by [...]
